As a Canucks fan, I wish my team could be more like the Oilers. If you could’ve even called this a rivalry from last year, it’s truly over now. At this point I just hope that a Canadian team wins the cup this year! Gg Oilers
Blackwood made few game savers, but….in the end McDavid came , saw and won.
Joel Kiviranta has proved that he belings to Avs roster. A very good season from him.
Tbh I was not expecting the Avs to win this one, they put up a fight, but they are still missing key players like Val and Wood. Their PP especially needs Val in order to click. Avs didn’t really play with urgency tonight. I wouldn’t be surprised if this game was even a little scripted, if you watched the tnt broadcast you’d know why I think that. If you didn’t watch the game, let’s just say the Oilers are the Chiefs of the NHL in terms of glazing.
Every team has one of those games where they give up a comeback, brush it off Avs and move to the next game. Go Avs Go

I feel like whenever Skinner lets in a couple early you can always count on him to lock it down after that. People rag on the guy for letting in the first shot sometimes, but his ability to stabilize afterwards so often is really impressive.

Skinner was fantastic in the final two periods. Colorado is probably finishing 3rd at best in the Central division. Blackwood had no chance for the 2nd or 3rd goal to be fair. Hyman had a poor game for his standards but I expect that turns around this Saturday in Vancouver.
EDM are tied for 1st place in the division and starting Jan 22 after Washington(h), the Oilers have the easiest schedule remaining in the western conference, 2 home games v Utah, still play Buffalo twice, home v Calgary, 3 games v Sharks, 2 games v Ducks, in Chicago, in NY Islanders, in Philly and a couple against Vancouver in the next ten days.
I wonder when the nhl will start putting ads on the glass.
If your best player by far is the best goal tender but you are getting 4 goals still losing the game, then you know the quality of your opponent! Great comeback win by the oilers!
