Should Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid be suspended?

1. Thank you guys. The people that blame the Goalie probably do not know how to play the Sport of hockey. Do they call a Goal a home run or a touchdown Lol

2. When Connor hurt his ankle and couldn’t play that’s when we started winning this season after our Stanley Cup Slump. Let Connor get suspended only if the Canuck does too

3. Games like that shows how much the miss a player like Kane…….Garland is a total Prick….The Oil are way to soft. It's truly sad when McDavid and Draisaitl are not the only real goal scorers and the only players with any grit!

4. Myers is suspension worthy but i would be all for a 5-10k financial slap on the wrist for mcdavid but no suspension because that play never happens if the refs pull their whistle from where the sun dont shine and blow the play dead after the connor garland hold/tackle/interference

I understand McDavid's frustration…. but based on the clip you showed, he was tackling Garland before Garland tackled him…I didn't notice if there was back and forth between Garland and McDavid throughout the game. Maybe next time just drop the gloves instead. One – I think McDavid could have held his own against Garland; and Two – the Oilers need to be tougher. You don't necessarily want your superstar fighting, but that would have sent a message to the rest of his team – Step up lads.

Gralund was on the bottom but he was holding onto McD.. not letting him up.. which is why McD swung at him… he gets up and Garlund holds onto him again.. finally McD was pissed for stopping him from getting into the play. No one with any hockey sense thinks McD was jist sitting on garlund holding him down and remo ing himself from the play.. common sense folks.

16. If the Refs did their damn job Connor wouldn't have to do it for them. Garland was holding McDavid's arm underneath him for 8 SECONDS… and THEN jumps on his back holding him. If you're allowed to molest someone for 20 seconds straight in the final minute of a close game, WHAT THE HELL ARE WE DOING?? A glance of lumber to the side of the helmet is mild compared to what Garland deserved. Thursday should be fun.

17. the refs are well protected by the league , too well protected imo . They need to be subjected to post game interviews and maybe they should be subject to suspension without pay if and when they fail to do their job ….

18. There was probably 3 penalties before the cross check. If your not going to call the rules then let the players police themselves. I don't care what route they go but the league has to make up their mind

22. The NHL is embarrassing itself once again. How can anyone take this sport seriously when the best leauge in the world doesn't even follow their own rules. The playoffs are even worse, the best team never wins because the rules aren't followed. I love physical hockey and even fights. But it has to be officiated and rules must be followed. If it's a penalty, call it. Last night was an absolute joke. It's so obvious that refs are controlling the outcomes. There's no other logical explanation

    Ultimately, it was the ref's fault, but to have Garland holding McDavid down for seconds, in an absolutely crucial moment in the game is completely unacceptable and needs to be responded to.

    Still worthy of a 1-game suspension, though.
