Such an unexpected comment about Robertson being “difficult.” I’m not calling for his head but of all the Stars players who could possibly have that reputation, Robertson would be the one I’d expect the least.
He apparently trash talks in practices but that’s just in jest, especially considering that he does it when media is around too. Could the holdout from the contract negotiation a few years ago be what he was talking sbout? Maybe he’s difficult because he’s overly hard on himself? Perhaps teammates find it annoying how overly analytical and obsessive he is (practicing a ton, watching iPad footage after every shift). I can’t imagine him taking out frustrations on teammates. It just feels like a totally unexpected accusation that I can’t visualize. Even more confounding to come from a Canadian media member rather than someone who has covered the team for multiple years. Did a teammate leak something, a la Spittin Chiclets? I don’t think SDPN has the player connections like that.
I think SDPN is cool and I don’t think he really meant for a single random vague comment in a multi-hour show to be such a big deal, so I’m not looking for vengeance. Just find it to be a strange moment and wonder where it came from.
