3. I see some people saying it’s definitely enough space to do all that and I’m here to tell you it’s not. The land is 139 acres but they are only getting 100 of that. That landscape by the water they can’t touch. They have to keep the fields and green space. So trying to put a stadium and housing and restaurants etc is very hard to do and to try and have parking as well. You can’t have housing with no parking. They have lofty hopes for just 100 acres. A stadium at minimum takes up 39+.

   The Boston braves football team very first home in 1932 was a braves stadium, home of the Boston braves baseball team (today they are the Atlanta braves). It was common in the nfl for teams to copy baseball team names. The new York football giants and baseball giants (San Francisco giants today) Chicago cardinals football (Arizona) and Chicago cardinals baseball team (st Louis), even the Pittsburgh Steelers were the Pittsburgh pirates football team.

   The second home was Fenway park home of the red Sox. They changed their name to redskins to share kinship with the Red Sox.despite the move, they were still not popular in Boston.

   In 1936 the redskins became the first team in the south (yes dc was the south) in Griffith stadium home of the Washington nationals/senators baseball. The first Washington baseball team (currently Minnesota twins) was both the nationals (named after bohemian national beer) and senators (after their sponsor changed to senate beer). Griffith stadium was racially segregated, there was a section for black audience. The redskins were the last team that allowed any black players. The redskins owner, Marshall was a Washingtonian yet decided to start his team up north because football was a northern sport in the early years. He took a chance moving the team to his hometown.

   RFK stadium was open in 1961. The city administration didn’t allow the redskins to move to the new stadium until they desegregate. If you seen the movie “the express”, Ernie Davis was supposed to have been the first black redskin, yet refused to play for the racist owner.

   As early as 1991, the second owner of the redskins, Cooke and Virginia governor Doug wilder made a public announcement the redskins will be moving to the old train yard in Alexandria Virginia. When local residents heard of this potential move, they protested and the team decide to move to landover MD instead. First known as jack Kent Cooke stadium in 1998 to fed ex to north west. When it first opened, it was the largest stadium in the nfl. Over the decades, seats were stripped from the top rows of the stadium.

20. In regards to uniforms honestly getting a yellow uniform with red trim and rocking, the red pants would be really cool no yellow on yellow, please lol.

    but also getting the stripes returned to the red pants (so the yellow and white stripes) as well as the stripes return to the helmet and maybe the yellow face guard would be super awesome!!!!

    Also, I know it’s a longshot, but if everyone here remembers the Tennessee Titans when they play the current Houston Texans because they were the former Houston Oilers rock Houston Oilers uniform uniforms maybe we could rock a spear and feather or R with a circle throwback uniform when we play the Cowboys I know that’s not entirely related to this video but I think it would be something cool to explore, which would allow us to keep a part of our past, but also move forward into the new future.

23. The nationals have a relatively new stadium. Less than 20yrs old. They wouldnt playing in this Commanders stadium. I would like the stadium to be able to host the Olympics. The dome covering like this would be perfect.
