  1. Rielly has either lost a step, or he's out of shape. Hopefully it's the latter, because that's fixable. Berube should be lowering his ice time or putting him on bottom pair for awhile. Send him some kind of message. I;ve been a staunch defender of Rielly for a long time, but his play lately is really alarming. Been going on for too long, something has to give.

  2. Why do you guys keep mentioning injuries when the inferior team came into your home and taught you how to please your wife? Oh and WITHOUT Kirill Kaprizov 😂

  3. The problem is the leafs are playing the same style that won the Blues that cup when they aren’t constructed AT ALL the same as them! They don’t have 4 grit lines they can roll through, they’ve failed to attach grit around the stars because their grit is only in 4th line caliber players and not guys you can play up the lineup with the stars. In addition, that system feeds off a roster that has a bunch of above average guys with no real stars: THATS NOT THE LEAFS! We don’t have a consistent lineup, we have a lineup with big disparities between the top and bottom half. They needed a coach and a system that has won while elevating their stars and hiding their bottom half, more like a Coach Q in Chicago style

  4. As a Leaf fan… I dont care if the hockey games are boring. I just care about seeing them win. If we can win some rounds in the playoffs with this style… im all for it! But, the Leafs need to find a way to score and improve their passing.

  5. The leafs need a centre ..winger and another Dman. Riely needs a fresh start on another team and the leafs could aquire a position needed. Triviling needs to make some moves

  6. Toronto need a legit team. Balance on all four lines. I am not sure if they can do that until the 27/28 season. I could see Auston leave if the Leafs don't go far (Conference Finals over the next 3 seasons) Once the Rogers takeover happens I could see Shanahan get the sack and Treliving probably gets promoted to be the President or the Executive Vice President. Shane Doan, Brendan Pridham, Ryan Hardy takeover. Treliving is the Shapiro for the leafs and I think either of those guys are the emerging GM talents that can build some sort of a heart and soul team that wear down there opponents to go far in the playoffs and reach the conference finals. You're opponents need to hate you. And the leafs opponents love to play against the leafs. You have to be Pesky and have that dawg in you when you play in the playoffs.

  7. At the end of the day the team will be evaluated by their playoff performance.

However, Ive realized the off season is more interesting than watching this team play. This is not a new phenomenon.

The team plays 90% with zero energy, cant play a complete game and looks lifeless 95% of their play since the Matthews/ Marner era. I could count on one hand the amount of times Ive seen them compete for full game.

Watching them negotiate with players and give away ALL their leverage in current and future contracts is shocking. Massive contracts with no moves set up your next contract to loose. You give all your negotiating power to the player. You pay or you loose the player for nothing. Insanity.

Boring, no energy, over-paid, underperforming whinny entitled players is difficult to watch and get behind. Now they are starting to pass the buck to the fans?

    Not a shocked leafs fan.

  8. My wife went to renecent 3 years ago and she has always felt self conscious about it, thank you jason for sharing your experience onair, you sharing that normalizes it a bit and definitely made my wife feel good hearing that. Going in three years sober and very happy to hear of your success Jason.

  9. All these excuses you're making for the leafs, the sens have been dealing with. Lots of injuries and back to backs but they are 6-0 in their last 3 back to backs stop making excuses. The leafs just plain suck

  10. Not surprised this team is struggling. Teams are going to buckle down and earn their spot in the playoffs and the leafs wheels are going to fall off. They have two lines and that’s it. The other lines are fill ins.

  11. Thank you Nick for finally saying what I have been thinking for a couple years. Reilly is too slow. He has the speed, but it's like he's on cruise control. Noticed it in his puck retrievals last year but the difference was he was putting points on the board. Now it looks glaringly obvious. What is going on?

  12. The truth is less complicated. This team was pretty much built to run and gun. We simply don't have the ponies to be hard on the puck and forecheck aggressively. Knies can forecheck and finish as well. Lorentz can get after it, but who else is there? Domi? Please….he's terrible and a complete defensive liability. Roberts? Lol…he can't stay on his skates and turns it over at the sight of contact. The Kempf line, less Lorentz, is useless. Bottom line is this team isn't meant to muck it up and play that hard style that Florida played last year. Changes are necessary for sure. Grebenkin should be brought back up for Reaves, who provides nothing. As far as defense, MR is a total liability (been for years). Splitting up the top pairing was understandable, but only done to cover the lack of quality dmen we have on this roster. It's coming back to bite us badly, as Tanev and McCabe are really good together. Bring Rifai back up and keep the 7.5 million MR to under 10 minutes.
