I haven't drank since May of last year, if Jose goes down I will look like Lloyd Bridges in Airplane!, "I picked a hell of day to stop…"
Jose is our MVP and after him Kwan in my book. But, as far as stepping up Bo has to do that this year. Good morning Justin.
When Chase comes up where does he probably slot into the order?
With the Padres and Red sox forfeiting their 2nd rounders (64 and 54 respectively) do the guardians picks in 2, CBB, and 3rd round go from from 66, 70, 72, 102 to: 64, 68, 70, 101? The astros getting a 4th rounder for it moves everything back by one in rounds 5-10, and the red sox getting a comp pick allows the third round pick to only gain one
Red Sox: Forfeit 54, gain 74 or so (MLBTR).
Padres: Forfeit 64
Astros: Gain 137th pick or so (MLB TR)
Would this mean:
Guardians picks go from 66 (2nd), 70 and 72 (CBB), and 102 (3rd) to 64 (2nd), 68 and 70 (CBB) and 101 (3rd). And rounds 5-10 move back 1 pick?
The bonus additions from those premium picks moving up opposed to the one spot drops in the last five rounds still results in a gain correct?
Thanks for the great Guardians content, as always!
here's my ideal top of the lineup right now:
1. Santana
2. Kwan
3. Jose
4. Manzardo/Thomas
Like the idea of Kwan @ two, gives him some more opportunities w/ a runner on, hopefully.
I’m not sure we can rely on Santana at his age to give us anything near what he used to. That being said, I’d say it’s very important manzardo makes it through the year as one of our top producers. Or at least until fry comes back, which I think will be the most important piece of the second half of the season. Manzardo producing to help us being in contention come summer. Fry and Bieber being able to help us be contenders late in the year. Good show Justin
Great job Justin. My indispensable players are ones that come out of nowhere as that is what seems to put this team over the top like Cade Smith in 24 or Steven Kwan in 22. Position player DeLauter, pitcher Cantillio, reliever Walters. An idea for insiders or if you need content, episode devoted to going through the roster of the minors teams. I was left wanting more when you discussed the minors. Position by Position. I might be in the minority but that seems like your wheel house Justin. You this system better than anyone I know.
We know what we’re getting out of Kwan this year. He works best imo as the leadoff hitter.
Please stop sleeping on Noel. We need his power. I expect him to improve this year and hit even more homeruns.
Fill in the blank: If ________ has a great season this year, it can totally change the Guardians season.
Our margins are so thin, all our guys are indispensable. Yes, Jose and Kwan would be at the top of the list, but think a lot depends on Kyle living up to potential.
Question: Who is our next Jose (not named Travis)? With our franchise player getting older, what prospect is most likely to take on the franchise mantle going forward? Was there anything in the data that would indicate Jose would be as good as he has demonstrated?
