  1. I'm just about totally out on Gorman and another year of Jordan Walker putting up big strike out numbers I'll be out on him too. Give me contact hitters all day everyday. No I'm not angry about their performances just frustrated and I hope they both can improve.

  2. I get it, its spring training. However Arenado, Gorman, and Goldy did nothing in spring training last year. And that was the excuse I gave them. And then the real season starts and it was the same thing for the whole season.

  3. It was reportedd that we won 12 games more than we should have and at the end off season that we were going to give the young guys a chance to play so I was thinking 60 to 70 wins but since we are playing the same lineup as last year minus Goldschmidt so my win total 70 to 78

  4. Hey JD;

    Gorman just needs to get some hits to get his confidence locked in.

    No. I’m not giving up on Gorman. I do think he needs to have success this year for his confidence sake. 2 rough seasons in a row and maybe a change of scenery might be good for him.

    I think VSII is a ball player. I like his mind and his skill set. I’m rooting for him to win the CF spot!

  5. With Gorman that's honestly the whole point of this season I don't care if he breaks an all time strike out record for the Cardinals, what's important is he either works through this or he doesn't regardless we will know what we have in him by the end of the year and where to go moving forward. He has high potential and hopefully he can work past this slump.

  6. Scott had me thinking he would be the next Vince Coleman after 90+ stolen bases in 2023, but now I’m thinking maybe he’s a little more Ray Langford.👍

  7. It's spring training & early at that. Give Gorman 500+ ABs this year then make a change of scenery decision. Wetherholt is coming & he's gonna hit. If VS II wins the job then let him run with it all year regardless of results.

  8. I'm not out on Gorman. He did a lot of work in the off-season, but you can't put that into practice until you see real, live, in-game pitching. So give him as many reps in the batters box as possible this spring. He needs to see live pitching. He needs to be getting constant feedback from the coaches. And, most importantly, like JD pointed out, he's got to keep a healthy mental attitude. I think we'll start seeing a pretty big change in him by the end of camp. Well, at least I HOPE we will, anyway.

  9. There are four tiers of players early in the spring training season. Tier 1 are the starting field players, DH, and the starting pitchers. Tier 2 includes the reserve infielders and outfielders plus the relievers in the bullpen. The two tiers make up the 26-man big league roster. Tier 3 are players who will start the season in the minors but get called up to the big league roster during the season. Tier four are guys to be soon reassigned to the minor league camp, and will spend the entire season in the minors.
    If a guy is hitting .476 with 3 HR and 10 RBI, which tier of pitchers is he doing that against? While it would still be impressive to a degree, if those hits are only coming against minor league pitchers, then results are not likely that impressive.
