Detroit Lions News: Lions RELEASE Veteran, Lions MEET With Jalen Milroe + Hendon Hooker Trade

Detroit Lions news and Detroit Lions rumors start off with the Lions releasing veteran LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin. The cut will same the Lions $1.895 million dollars.

The move comes just a year after handing Reeves-Maybin a two-year, $7.5 million contract that included $5.245 million guaranteed. The linebacker was going to cost $4.645 million against the salary cap this year, but that will drop to just $2.75 million in dead cap after his release—saving $1.895 million. Reeves-Maybin is due a $500,000 roster bonus on March 1, so the official move is likely coming in the next day or two.

Hooker is an athletic quarterback that generates good velocity when passing the ball to accurately reach all three levels on the field. With his creative instincts and pocket maneuverability, he would help elevate the ceiling of this Titans offense, and be the ideal quarterback to get the offense turned around.

  8. Hendon Hooker presents a lot of mixed feelings. You never know how his college level performance will translate at the NFL level but he seems to have a lot of upside potential which I would love to see come to fruition. As Goff seems to be a permanent fixture for the next few years, in order for Hooker to have his chance, he would have to be traded. I would love to see him get his chance.

  13. Hendon hooker doesnt have the coaches confidence hes a bust plus they killed his confidence wen they brought teddy bridgewater off the street and gave him 2nd string nd played him in playoffs over hendon hooker

Why would the lion wanna trade a boatload of draft picks for a pass rusher when you got Hutchinson and Smith with smith if you play him for 17 games, he could have 8 to 10 sacks and then trade up in the draft and get one of the really good defensive ends in the draft and bring him upand save a ton of money

    I would personally love to draft Milroe. Teddy came off the street and went in the game for Goff instead of HH in the playoffs told me everything I need to know about HH. Get what you can for HH, even if that’s a late round pick.

    I wouldn’t mind trading for Bosa with a 4th-7th rd pick. His cap hit of 10mil isn’t bad for a 1yr prove it deal. Hasn’t played a full season in 4yrs so that’s not great… but also why he might be cheap.
