    For Rantanen, the Hurricanes get Logan Stankoven and a 1st-round and 3rd-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft, and a 1st and 3rd in the 2027 NHL Draft?

21. I love Logan, he will always be in our hearts. But this is a business and a lot of players like Benn want the cup! Personally as much as I've been looking forward to Maverick stepping up to the next level if I had my choice I probably would have picked Mavrik to go to hurricanes rather than Logan. Logan just has a supercharged motor and his out skates everybody on the rink. Now I saw Mavrik a lot of times on his butt.

28. Look for all the people complaining. Lets break this down simply by the numbers.

    In the last 5 years Mikko Rantanen is:

    Ranked 4th in the league for points
    Ranked 5th in the league for goals

    For perspective in the same time period Jason Robertson is:

    Ranked 14th in the league for points
    Ranked 15th in the league for goals

    In his career Rantanen has 101 points in 81 playoff games (1.25 ppg)

    In his career Robertson has 38 points in 45 playoff games (.84 ppg)

    It is also worth noting that in the 59 games Rantanen played WITHOUT MacKinnon he has 58 points (.98 ppg)

    Look we gave up some picks that MAY become NHL level prospects in 3 – 5 years. We also gave up our sweet boy Stankoven who everyone loves but this year he is sitting at 29 points (9 goals and 20 assists). The 12mil X 8 is big but with the cap shooting up this contract is going to look great in 3 years. Johnston resigned to a 5 year deal so we have him locked up.

    These are the sorts of moves that big time hockey franchises have to make if they want to take a team to the next level. Rantanen is a top 10 forward in the league without a doubt and is the sort of player that can take this team to the next level.

    We were able to keep Bourque (who I think has a higher ceiling than Stankoven), Johnston and Bischel who are going to be the future of this team and still have 2nd round picks in 2025 and 2026. All told I am very happy with this deal and looking forward to yet another Fin being added to the "mafia"

29. As an Avs fan, yall got THE Premier sniper in the league. Gonna suck even more playing the Stars. Avs got way way older leaving me scratching my head because they have no future now. Overpaid on every trade in the last 24 hours. Mikko was worth what the Stars gave up, Carolina got fleeced 😂

32. During the last off season for both the Stars and the Mavs and the Mavs picked up Klay Thompson and the Stars didn't make a big splash and other Stars fans were complaining. All I said is that I trusted Jim Nill will make the right choices when needed. Look at our rookies and how positive team has been while improving as a Team adding new young players from the farm when needed and balancing salary cap is the key to having a good team. Jim is a master of that. I had so many negative reactions to that. People were even making fun of me. Whatever. That doesn't bother me. Now in the past few weeks of the season the Mavs are crashing because of a incompetent General manager while the Stars are keeping everything moving in a positive direction even with Seguin and Heiskanen 2 top tier players are out with injuries and still able to improve the team with great trades and a stunner at the trade deadline. Stars fans are very Lucky to have Jim Nill as a phenomenal General manager. Go Stars!

36. Hate losing Stank but Rantanen is an upgrade. I don’t mind giving up the first round picks especially if the Stars win Stanley. Drafting well is great but you have to bring in proven vets to get over the hump. Jerry Jones should take note. Just hope we can stay healthy 🤞🏾
