1. As a fan of fins, i love to see as many as possible playing for one team so Dallas was the right fit imo from the start 😅

   I’ll alway hate Dallas. The city. The fans of every team that plays there. They’re obnoxious tourists and transplants that never change their license plates or get snow tires in their cars.

   But Mikko? I’ll always love Mikko.

5. Why people are hating that he doesn't want to play in the canes how it is his fault that he got traded there. If he is trying to change the scenery by leaving Colorado as a free player but gets traded, so he needs to force the hand of the canes for a trade

6. Rantanen definitely had good games in Carolina and moments that looked great, but about half of the games he just looked flat-footed and seemed like he was skating with absolutely zero purpose and was just wasting time.

7. I don't see anything wrong with him not wanting to play in Carolina. People need to chill out and not take personally.

8. Kinda weird since Carolina asked in before that would you like to sign to Carolina BEFORE the trade and they still went for it. Imagine Mikko getting more hate than Guentzel even thought he was just honest and they got SOMETHING back.

12. The Canes fans should be pissed off to their GM, who didn't trade and sign, but took the risk of getting Rantanen to sign later. Mikko actually did them a solid by signing with Dallas and getting Canes Stankoven and two 1st round draft picks. He could have just played the rest of the season and then leave the Canes without no compensation as a free agent. Like what happened with Guenzel last summer.

13. Dallas wanted him. Colorado would only trade him to an Eastern Conference team. A deal was made.

14. Rantanen wanted to stay in Colorado and when Avalanche let him and his agent to negotiate with other teams they thought it was just a bargaining tactic. Thats why Mikko was so shocked that he was really traded to Canes. Who wouldnt love to play with Mckinnon and Makar in a place which he loved. Canes did not fit his play style and his wife’s opinion mattered too. Rantanen is at his best age so of course he wanted to sign the biggest deal possible.

19. 29 year AVS fan here. I've been focusing on Ratman for 4 years now. Here's what I noticed. This might piss off his fans. He's a great player. Fantastic at….the one timer, the re-direct, the tip in, sometimes the rebound put back……but he was not great at handling the puck. If he tried to carry it for more than 3/4 strides, look out, he'll probably lose it. I saw this hundreds of times. It drove me nuts. He was also kinda a wuss in the blue paint, for how big he is. I think most of his scoring/fame came from playing with Nate, and Nate feeding him the puck. Don't get me wrong, he'll be a great player for Dallas, as long as they have someone to feed him the puck, which they do. I think Neccas(?) is a better fit for our team long term. And with another Drury on the team from the trade, I think it was an excellent trade. Denver sports fans saw this happen around 10 years ago with the Broncos, and Peytons receivers. They put up good #'s, hit free agency, get a payday, and proceed to lay a turd with other teams. It wasn't the receivers, it was Peyton. It isn't Ratman, it's McKinon.
    Ok, let me have it.

20. mikko and/or his agent is an absolute villain, lying to the canes about it not being a no when it certainly was a no is ridiculous behavior. i cheered for him every single game and wanted him to stay and do well here, as did 99% of canes fans, and he decided to lie to the team and act like an upset toddler over the whole situation. even for someone who gets paid to play a game, that's completely childish and unprofessional and in a perfect world he'd be laid out every game by players who aren't whining children

21. it's not hard to do. The Stars have the dumbest fan base besides Nashville. They start booing sometimes on an offsides, thinking they are getting a penalty. 30 plus years and they still don't understand hockey.

23. Great video, as an Avs fan I miss Mikko and wish him all the best (except against Colorado of course). I hold no ill feelings, I think he was genuinely shocked he was traded and I'm disappointed in his agent for the way things played out. It does suck he chose Dallas as a place to settle. If I had to guess I'd think he'd want a contending team that wasn't too far from his home and buddies in Colorado 😂

    If you listen to the Eric Tulsky interview on Daily Faceoff you'll see he didn't actually say he'll only play for 4 teams and you're not one of them…

24. i hope he rolls through Colorado and beats the Canes in the Final to hoist the Cup. That would be rad.
