DO NOT PANIC: Dallas Stars Fall to Jets as Winnipeg takes Stranglehold on Central Division

2. The one player that makes me panic is Jake "The Joke". He gave up 4 on 9 shots and a total of 9 in his last two starts.
   DeSmith has won his last 6 games in row and deserves to play in Colorado.

3. The Jets are 25-0-3 when leading after one which is just absurd

4. It wasn't just Otter, the whole team seemed to be off, maybe the mixing of the lines? We all know the Jets are good, but, the Caines beat them last Sunday, Stanky even got the winning goal. Was a bit of a surprise to be honest to see how the Stars faired against the Jets, a week later. Hope the Stars come out strong on Sunday, a win against the Avs feels important and it's one of the most anticipated games of the regular season! Let's Go Stars! Shooting Star will be Matt Duchene!

5. The stars only have 3 good d men. Miro, Esa , Harley. Bischel is going to be good but he is still really new. So we roll with Dumba, Smith, Lyubushkin, and Ceci. All 4 of those guys are bottom 5,6 dmen playing top minutes. Dallas has needed 1 or 2 top 4 dman for 5 years now and Nill will not go out and get one. If your D always sucks and they let the forwards just skate in through the neutral zone at full speed and then they do not clear them out in front of the net it makes it hard on your goalie. Look at what the Jets dmen do for Conner. Dallas will not make it out of the second round with this D core. There is no way in hell.

6. The problem with Jake is, he doesn’t steal games. He say “B“ goalie. At his best he’s an A+ at his worst. He’s a D. He lets in way too many easy goals. I would not consider him elite by any stretch of the matter.But he’s not a goalie that you can count onto to steal you again. He’s never really done that. And that’s a problem in the playoffs.

7. Last night's game was unacceptable. I'm starting to have doubts if this team can go far in the playoffs with this defensive core and the way Oettinger has been playing. You can't keep giving up 4 or 5 goals a game. Maybe, DeSmith should get the start in goal tomorrow against the Avs. Speaking of the Avs, they beat the Stars in regulation tomorrow and they'll be one point back of the Stars for the #2 spot in the Central. Not good. Wake up, Stars.

8. I know its a Canada trip and they never win much if at all in Canada especially in Winnipeg. I get they were missing their top 2 centers and two defenseman including their best one while the Jets were completely healthy…..definitely full😊 advantage Jets. However, the effort or lack there of in such a big time Friday night clash of Titans and having had 4 days off to prepare is alarming and quite telling. Worst of it all we have a major problem with goalie #1. 9 goals allowed in last two starts and worse a sv% barely hitting .800. Another 2 goals allowed within the first 6 shots faced……Otter is NOT elite and imo is going to be the reason they do not make a deep run. Jets are far from perfect and still get beat as Carolina just proved. They've had multiple 4-5 game slides to match their couple of 10 game runs so a fully healthy Stars team on home ice I believe can still handle them and beat them.

   Jets are gonna collapse in round one anyway.

10. Not the end of the world, just worried about Jake. Seems like he's in his head, but the defense really wasnt doing him any favors last night.

    Offense was just terrible too, and you can credit the Jets defense, they had complete control of the middle of the zone, but any time the Stars got any semblance of anything going they bumbled the passes.

    Just a bad game after a 5 day rest in enemy territory. They'll be fine. Just need to get some of our big boys back!

11. People need to remember jake is only 26yrs old, look how old some of the other top goalies are. He is minimum 4-5yrs younger. Do goalies need to be able to steal games when your not playing well, for sure but he is still one of the top goalies, i would rather him do this now and get it out of way. Look at new yorks goalie. He is making more than jake and they arent even making the playoffs. To win the cup you have to everything go right, injuries, goals, defense, puck luck all of it. The stars are facing adversity now amd havent been fully healthy with a full roster since jan 1 when seguin went out and he was our top 3 goal scorer at the time. Lets get all this bad stuff out of the way now and then see how playoffs go. They are gonna have a hard time for sure. But no team has it easy by any means. Jets havent faced a single hard thing this year as far as i can tell. They should put de smith in for colorado to give a kick in the but to jake because these guys are so competitive it will make him want to be better. Hockey is mental also ans we only see about 20% of what goes on with these guys.

12. There should be no doubt of any expectations of winning the central. That said, this won't be the lineup that starts the first round of the playoffs. Let's see how that turns out.

13. For years this team seams to have a hard time to getting motivated. This team is built to score and when they play a good defensive team who are physical, the Stars just can’t match that. The forwards need to help the defense. To many times the players are just gliding waiting to go the other way and leaving the D out to dry. And Otter is the same. Elite goalies have bad games but he has way too many and against teams he needs to be. Hes the Prescott of the Stars.
