This is the Winnipeg Jets. At the time this video is being made, they are undoubtedly the best team in the NHL based on points. When you look at their team top to bottom, their advanced stats & overall execution…They should be odds on favourite to win the stanley cup. But they’re not. They aren’t even in the top 5 for teams that are favoured to win the stanley cup. They are the best team & nobody cares. That’s because constant failures & shortcomings during playoffs have fans skeptical that they can actually translate into success. So – is the doubt right? Or is this team truly built to finally break through the hump. Well – let’s take a deeper look.

  10. ….does anyone get the feeling that juggernunt Jets and Caps won't make it far in the post season despite being solid 1 and 2 this year? even their odds to win are 10 and 13 to 1

  13. I love this breakdown but one huge piece you missed is past deamons. People like to think that they dont mean anything but year after year we see powerhouse regular teams get dominated by stronger teams that beat the breaks off them and they look like a completely different team. Or on a 7 game series they find a weakness that the Jets are not able to fix in 2 or 3 games. Regular season success only gives you a home ice advantage. Until they prove themselves in the playoffs just like the leafs regular season success means nothing if you cant convert in the playoffs.

  23. Canucks fan for life (it has been a very long, frustrating road,,,I know) but they do not have the juice. Jets do! Cannot believe they didn't crack the Canadian Cup curse last year, actually. And I have terrifying, but fond, memories of navigating the incredibly steep steps of the old Winnipeg Arena back in the day. With the Queen glaring down from one end. Freaking death trap! Great break down and GO JETS!

  29. Jets are the rangers of the west but opposite. Great defensively. Play a solid game. And a goalie that steals games making them look great on paper. In reality helly has to play out his ass in playoffs to keep this team alive and if they give up more than 2 goals in a game they’ll probably lose in playoff hockey and are one or two injuries from being useless
