Has Jeremy Swayman LOST THE SUPPORT From The Bruins Locker Room?

On Monday’s edition of Felger & Mazz, the guys reacted to the Bruins 7-2 loss at the hands of the LA Kings. While discussing the performance of Jeremy Swayman, the guys questioned whether or not the goaltender has lost the support from the team’s locker room.

  1. To be fair, Kuemper didn’t just poke him with his blocker. He put Khustidinov in a headlock in front of the net (I was at the game). Idk if TV didn’t catch it, but that’s what happened.

  2. let's not rewrite history here. Swayman absolutely earned that #1 spot over Ullmark. they tried the goalie rotation in the playoffs two years in a row, Ullmark's "goldfish" comment was highly criticized AND on this station

guarantee this time last year you guys were gassing up Swayman. be consistent

  3. He can stop the puck … What makes him think he can stop a punch … Bright side u can get a ticket from the scalpers at the garden for less than a beer ..

  4. Bring up DiPietro and develop a rookie goalie with the younger group and just chuck it out there..can't do worse. And go with Korpisalo and DiPietro. Now, go get as much as you can for Swayman. And let Zadorov grow with the team and keep an eye on the smaller guys. Cheers! 😉

  5. So.. I am doing some research for a video project for a hockey channel that I will not name. I already have some of this information put together so I will just copy and paste the most basic stuff here, along with my opinion on a few things. This really puts into perspective the extent of the mess our Bruins are in….
Zadorov has really improved and we are starting to love him. I know that you jokers haven't been watching, but those of us diehard fans that are still watching are aware of what is happening, and we've seen a real growth in Zadorov's game. He's stepping up, and if you had been paying attention, you'd see that Swayman has not been pulled for weeks, except during one game. All these other games they are making him stay out there and destroy his stats even more. They obviously are not behind Swayman anymore. The coach would be pulling him when he lets 3 goals in 4-5 shots in the late 2nd and 3rd. He's had some decent games where he's made some good saves where the defense has been bad. Let's not forget that we've lost Carlo, Hampus Lindholm and McAvoy. 3 of our top 4 veteran defense. This team has really REALLY fallen apart and we are going to have multiple years of repair and rebuild. Zadorov's contract is fine if he keeps playing how he has in the last month. Lindholm and Swayman contracts are a SERIOUS, SERIOUS problem. The only way to move those players is large contract retention. To move Swayman we will have to keep at least 50% of his contract, and for Lindholm, the same, so we are looking at a loss of 7 to 8 million for the next 6-7 YEARS on those two players just for contract retention in order to get them off the roster and refill their positions with decent players.
This is our situation next year IF we were able to move Elias Lindholm at 50% retention, leaving us about $35 million of cap space, which seems like a lot, but look at the positions we have to fill:

    Forwards:
    LINE 1: LEFT / CENTER / PASTRNAK
    LINE 2: LEFT / GEEKIE / RIGHT
    LINE 3: LEFT / ZACHA / LYSELL
    LINE 4: KOEKPE / LAUKO / RIGHT
    We are left with:
    C Middlestadt
    C Kastelic
    C Khusnutdinov
    C Beecher
    C Poitras
    C Brown
    C Lettieri
    C Merkulov
    C Kuntar
    C Harrison
    C Duran
    C/RW Farinacci

(What the hell is this???? How many centers do we freaking need?!?! This is beyond me!!!!)

So we have a f*ckton of random forwards and they are all centers that should not be put on the wings because they are not comfortable playing along the walls. All these centers but not one is qualified to play on a first line center with Pasta. Geekie has greatly improved, but there is no way he's an elite first line center, however, I do put him in the second line, and I think he would be a fantastic second line center, and Zacha is a fantastic 3rd line center. We have just ONE true left winger and he barely qualifies as a 4th liner. We need an elite first line left winger, a second line left winger, a third line left winger, a second line right winger, and a 4th line right winger. We can throw a couple random guys to fill the 3rd and 4th line slots, but that still leaves us needing TWO elite top line forwards and TWO decent second line forwards. The majority of our prospects are in their mid 20's already. Poitras is not going to be a Bruin, sorry. I was 100% behind Potsy, but this year he has proven to not be good enough to play as an effective NHL center. 1 goal in 33 games this year, vs 5 goals and 15 points in 33 games last year. The fact that he has been cut at exactly 33 games for the second year in a row is a message the he was given the same opportunity, but he has failed. He is very vulnerable to injury because he is small and he skates with his head down. Not good. When he finishes his shifts he is often winded and struggling to keep up, speaking to conditioning problems that should have been fixed already. I don't know what is going on with him but it's looking bleak. He's still young though, and maybe he can turn this around.

    Defense:
    MCAVOY / LOREI
    D(R) / LINDHOLM
    JOKIHARIJU / ZADOROV
    PEEKE / D(L)
    We are left with:
    Wotherspoon
    Mitchell
    Callahan
    Brunet

As far as defense goes, it's looking good for next year. This is an impressive D core, especially after all of the big minutes Zadorov and Lorei have had to take on this year. They both took it in stride and they both came out on top as better players, with confidence of the coaching and the fans. Most of all is the growth of Zadorov as a leader and stepping up from being not effective and hated by fans, to being very effective and loved by the fans. This is huge! It's a big deal because this fills our defense with 4 extremely solid, fan approved players, and several other good defensemen to plug the other spots up.

If we move Swayman, then we need a starting goalie as well. Korpisalo is fine as a backup if he actually wants to even stay with this mess of a team.

So, who should be blamed for this mess and these bad contracts??
If you ask me, and most people, this is the fault of management for making such a mess. Who's at fault for continuing to keep the same management? The people at the very top. Just like any team or business, the team is only as good as the management.

  6. I dont think he had the support from the very beginning of the season. They should of made korpisalo number one and have swayman prove himself. Now I think the team is actually making him look bad to get rid of

  7. I've never seen someone I personally root for turn out to be such an ass as quickly as Swayman did.
And now to the off-season. We have a few extra draft picks, and knowing the fine job the scouting team/front office has done recently,I'm fully confident Sweeney will pick the latest stud and not some third liner who will spend the first 5 years of his career in Providence.
And don't forget FA and the cap exploding in the next couple of years. Sweeney has shown he is the master at finding bargains and never throws first line money at a third liner,or Vezina /Stanley Cup money at a goalie who's never played a #1 goalie schedule.
    Good times ahead Bruin fans.

  8. A shame but I believe fact that much of the new blood that came up or traded from NHL teams to the Bruins don't show 100% effort and seams like why should they injure themselves so…just collect that cabbage$$$x10 and slide into summer….SAFE
freaking weird and yet they don't care like they have a vested interest …they have contracts so their ya go.
    I can't stand it anymore.
