Statistics are statistics. They provide a good look at trends and things that might happen, but can’t account for the chaos of the moment. That’s why Dallas won over a favored VGK last season, and the Oilers over Dallas. The Oilers are capable of beating anybody in a series.
I expect to see them in the conference final. I don't view that as a particularly optimistic assessment, either.
Honestly I didn’t have many complaints the last couple of games. They’ve really cleaned up the repetitive mistakes they repeatedly were making, ironically enough. I think the Oilers will play hard in the playoffs and go just as far. Yeah they’ve had slumps but when the team is dialled in, there’s no slowing us down. The other thing is the D lines are still not blocking them from entering our D zone. They’ve been allowing them entry and then fighting them behind the net. If they just did what so many other teams are very effective at stopping even McDavid, was the pair of Ds blocking them from entry at the blue line. Thats the only thing I do not understand why they aren’t more physical in blocking them. Otherwise I’ve really enjoyed the last 4-5 games due to the competitiveness we’ve displayed.
Because certain players are doing so well since Draisaitl and McDavid are gone, I can here it ringing in my ears they are going to want to be traded to another team so they can be that ( number 1player ) instead of always being on the sidelines. It’s called “egos” not everyone is that loyal. When certain players got traded last year to get WHAT ? I was pulling my hair out. The worse people for the Oilers is the General Managers! I hope you are right about the salary cap. But I think it’s going to cause a mess the first year that it is lifted $$$. Less expensive tickets to see a game would be what I as a “fan” would like.
What what point do men stop acting like 8 year old girls idolizing thier favorite singer. They never even won a division together, let's please stop this nonsense.
