"The buzzer-beater on Friday gave Jokić 16,003 career points. That makes him the fastest player in NBA history (739 games) to reach 16,000 points, 8,000 rebounds and 5,000 assists. The previous fastest was Larry Bird, who reached those figures in 799 games"

Congratulations Joker!

  1. Is it a hot take to say that current Jokic is a better offensive player than prime Larry Bird?

  2. Jokić is a Larry Bird level player. It’s unlikely he’ll match Birds resume due to external factors, but the level of basketball skill and talent is up there with the best of all time.

  3. I think it’s up for discussion but hard to compare eras. The spacing and lack of physical defense today makes a jokic type thrice easier. What bird was doing was like… never seen before at the time and was rewriting what we thought about players that look like him. They are both just ridiculous and stand out above their peers.

  4. The crazy part about this is that Jokic actually shoots half court heaves when 95% of the league stopped doing this to preserve their 3pt and fg%

  5. I mean right in your quote he reached 16k points before the shot. Sounds like it’s trying to make it fit

  6. “The buzzer-beater on Friday gave Jokić 16,003 career points.”

So he reached 16,000 on his bucket before the buzzer-beating heave. Got it.

  7. we need to stop with these arbitrary numbers, it’s so fucken pointless and ridiculous. If it’s not a 5 or 10 multiple, we don’t need to hear about it

  8. I read fattest, ngl, still impressed… But sure fastest is better still. Joker knocking at the goat discussion door if he ads more chips
