The #chicagocubs have the chance to win 3 of 4 tomorrow against the #arizonadiamondbacks, but not without drama on Saturday night as new closer #ryanpressly wasn’t good and nearly coughed up the entire lead but the defense bailed them out. Specifically, #dansbyswanson made a huge heads up play to tag the runner at third base for the games final out. #shotaimanaga went 7 innings and was fantastic. #kylerucker hit his first homer as a Cub, and #mattshaw hit his first career HR.

Cubs aren’t as bad as they were one year ago in the bullpen. May be too close for comfort but a much better bullpen than 2024

Hoyer had all winter to improve this bullpen from the left-hand side and the Cubs have only 1- LHRP in their BP, that is pathetic!

Cubs finally woke up today in game #5. No one was hitting over .200 but for Happ. Meanwhile Bellinger lighting it up with NY, and why didn't Cubs sign Luis Robert? If healthy he's good for 40 HRs in Wrigley, and Ricketts, who know nothing about baseball, could have had him cheap. Cubs rated 4th in team valuation and ranks 13th in payroll.
Tonight was way too close for comfort, but we're 5 games into a 162 game season. Let's calm it down a notch folks. Let's get the series W in Arizona against the Diamondbacks tomorrow.
Hopefully the brass doesn't let this closer become a huge problem like last year
