Deni Avdija SHINES but the Portland Trail Blazers’ lack of depth shows up in loss to New York Knicks
Deni Avdija was very good. He didn’t quite get enough help. He’ll need it and that needs to be a priority for the the Trail Blazers if they want to take real steps forward.

Keep the basketball terrorist in the line up the last seven games and secure the 8th spot.

Great as usual. Thanks for bringing up sharpe not passing, hope this gets better. I still believe that Chauncey does have a lot of value as a coach more in terms of getting the players to buy into a goal, personal relationship with players and leadershi. If we can add a good offensive minded assistant to work with Chauncey but be in charge of the offence things will look better. We also ABSOLUTELY have to get rid of simons he’s just terrible and such a liability on defence.
Crazy that in the 8 min he didn’t play they were out score by 19
Blazers have had a few great wins and been a suprise….but it also seems that several wins have been from better teams setting good players and tanking teams who have remembered that they were tanking at the end of the game
blazers did great b4 few players returned to d rotation
REQUIRED: 1 more Deni.
Billups insisted on playing through Anthony Simmons in the second half and he was ice cold shooting, a coaching decision led to the loss
5/20 Simons.. 💀
Good overview…
Agreed, I've been saying Deni can be in a duo like Tatum and Brown
Deni is playing on a level above the rest of the players on the team,he has a very high basketball IQ
Deni and Anfernee are the soul And the all star of this team .
The Blazers now have their star to build around. Deni is the man. Great trade, now stop drafting raw players and find some more Deni and Anfernee types, then you will finally have a direction for the franchise.
Portland's bench is one of the weakest in the league (except for Henderson) and that's why the team is still not ready to qualify for the playoffs.
You can't put all the weight on 5-6 players. Management should have traded Grant a long time ago who was missing too many games .
Salute Mike
I disagree, they don’t need more playmakers, they need their young core to develop and learn from Deni and a head coach who knows transition offense-defense to take advantage of their athleticism. Billups should be coaching an aged vet team.
the Blazers missed 13 straight 3pt shots to finish this game.
… stop trolling, be happy. Go Blazers
Deni is definitely not at luka level
But he can and should put up seasonal averages of 24/10/6 if we start building the offense around him, on his strengths, and especially understand that he is the man and we should put together a team around him that is more suited to him
He probably won't take us to the championship, but I think he will to the playoffs
But I also think you're limiting deni, you've made him a finished product, he's not. He's 24 years old and at least two or three years before his prime. He has a jumper from half-distance, he can shoot from three off the dribble and also a post-up. He just doesn't do it, because Portland asked him to focus on getting to the basket, and he said that, not me.
OG is the probably the best and most versatile defender in the league, he did great against Deni, especially compared to the rest. No offense to Tou who is a top 10 dffender in my book and still not in his prime
Would love Jenkins for head coach, but the Bucks probably need him more.
