  1. Well deserved.

One of the greatest scorers ever, 3 olympic golds, was part of probably the best draft ever and influenced a whiole lotta young players for years.

  2. In case there are any nephews in here, it’s the Basketball HOF, not the NBA. And if his NBA career isn’t enough for you, leading Syracuse to the title, and being one of the all-time great Olympics players for Team USA definitely should be.

  3. The ‘03 draft already has 3 Hall of Fame Inductees, which is the same amount as the 2000, ‘01 and ‘02 drafts combined.

  4. well deserved. would’ve been a travesty if he wasn’t first ballot.

  5. What does “x ballot” hof mean ? Does it mean a guy gets in at the first possible opportunity?

  6. Hell yeah love Melo, I spent the whole 2000s practicing jab step no dribble moves because of him

  7. It will be interesting to see who he picks to present him. Boeheim would be the obvious choice, but George Karl for the memes would be pretty cool too

  8. Carmelo is a basketball ICON and for like 10 years he was considered pretty unanimously as a top 10 NBA player and was one of the best pure scoring forwards of the 2000s era. Wish he was able to win a ring at some point but Carmelo definitely deserves the HOF nod. One of the best looking jumpshots ever

  9. Leading Syracuse to a national title at a time when the tournament was dominated by older players and freshman typically just didn’t do that

That team had 3 freshmen in the starting lineup and went preseason unranked to number 1. That run was unbelievable

Well deserved acknowledgment as a first ballot HOFer

  10. Melo being inducted to the HoF while Lebron is still playing and averaging 25, 8, and 8 is not something I saw coming 10 years ago.

  11. “And LeBron, I never really brought up or discussed why you did not attend Carmelo Anthony’s Hall of Fame induction.” – SAS
