The Dallas Stars MONUMENTALLY COLLAPSE in 6-5 Overtime loss to Canucks: It’s gone from BAD to WORSE!

On today’s episode of Locked On Stars, Joey Erickson reacts to the Dallas Stars monumental collapse to the Vancouver Canucks allowing three goals in the final minute of regulation to lose 6-5 in overtime. Jamie Benn after the game said it was “unacceptable” to describe the Stars loss after a third straight blown lead in the 3rd period. Can Dallas use this as fuel to the fire moving forward or is this the straw that breaks the Stars back as playoffs are right around the corner. Joey searches for answers as things have seemed to go from bad to worse after tonight. In the final segment, Joey wants to highlight some of the positives including the power play and the first half of the game where we saw Dallas look like themselves for large chuncks.

  1. Yeah, I've pretty much lost hope at Lord Stanley this season. I've been trying to stay positive, but when every single game we go into the third period and start playing like a peewee team, there's not a shot in hell we make the cup. On to next year.

  2. Honestly, the first two periods were almost fantastic, just a couple hiccups that only made it good play instead of great. I literally said to myself "where was this the last 10 games? ", but you just cant collapse like that.

  3. If this was 1930s boxing, everyone would cry fixed match. Stars have been having alot of idle and uninspired hockey play incrementally in alot of games in the last couple months.

  4. Canucks fan here — we were as flabbergasted as you were. Had to listen to your podcast to hear things from the other side. Welcome to the Vortex of Chaos that is Canucks hockey.

  5. I tempered my expectations exponentially when Miro went down. It never made sense that we would do wellwithout Miro. To be honest, the team in play in 2025 has far exceeded my expectations. This last string of games to me is just the Miro injury catching upto them. The game against the Jets will tell us everyrhing we need to know about whether this team hates to lose as much as they love to win.

  6. It was 5-2 with a barely any time left in the 3rd. I walked away from the game to talk to my girlfriend and came back to a 6-5 scoreboard. I couldn't believe it. Unacceptable for one of the best teams in the league.

  7. The firing Jim Nill stuff is ridiculous. Dallas didn’t NEED more defense. It’s alway good to have depth on D. Playoff hockey is different. And Dallas ran out of gas/scoring the last 2 seasons. We needed more scoring and that’s what we got. Jim won the trade deadline AGAIN. Teams tend to be overly conservative in playoffs so defense isn’t nearly as important as consistent scoring. Dallas will handle Colorado just fine. Their schoolyard stuff with new players looks good in season. But playoffs against the same team, it’s gonna smack them.

  8. Avs fan here…to be fair, the Avs were terrible in the final games leading up to the 2022 Cup run. Lately, the Avs haven't been able to put together a full 60 minute game, either. I think it's just been a long season and the players are ready to get to the playoffs, so the focus isn't great. Dallas is very dangerous, offensively. Scary good.

  9. and this team will be decent favorites against the AVS… Easy + money for a series I think Avs win 80% of the time… Gambling is easy… Imagine how dumb you have to be to lose everything like so many goofies do. We are surrounded in a world with 97% low IQ people
