Lucas Vazquez—4: Martinelli toyed with Vazquez and Arsenal look to exploit the flanks whenever the opportunity arose. Lucas played high up the pitch but only had one dangerous cross to show for his offensive positioning.
Raul Asencio—5: Struggled with the movement of Merino and Rice.
Toni Rudiger—4: Fortunate not to be sent off after stepping on Myles Lewis-Skelly. Gave away needless fouls and looked reckless on the night.
David Alaba—4: Offered very little when Madrid was on the ball. Saka once again got the better of him on 1v1 duels.
Tchouameni—6: Likely the hardest worker of the Madrid XI and had 4 tackles to his name but his passing game was limited.
Federico Valverde—5: Poor long range distribution with multiple overhit passes. Had one burst through midfield but passed it straight to the Arsenal backline.
Jude Bellingham—4: His effort is never in question but output was no where to be found. Failed to put together any threatening attacking sequences.
Rodrygo—2: Another big game and another failed showing. MLS dominated Rodrygo over the two legs.
Vinicius Junior—5.5: Scored a goal and worked hard defensively but never connected with his teammates and failed to show any of the form that made him a world beater in previous seasons.
Kylian Mbappe—2: A shadow of the player that dominated in the World Cup final three years ago. Saliba and Kiwior had no trouble defending the Frenchman.
Substitutions:
Fran Garcia—1: Never seen a player just give up on a play like Fran Garcia did on the Martinelli goal. Plays with fear. Lacks the mental fortitude to succeed at Real Madrid.
Endrick—5: Megged by Martinelli as soon as he entered the match. Was eager to make an impact but his shots were rushed or he failed to make the right contact.
Dani Ceballos—5: Ancelotti’s last roll of the dice to try and get something creative out of his midfield but an out-of-rhythm Ceballos was not able to find the killer pass.
Brahim Diaz—5: Played the last 15 minutes and managed 1 shot that stung Raya’s fingertips.
Luka Modric—5: Potentially his last UCL cameo in a Real Madrid shirt. Disappointing way to go out.
