What makes Oilers vs. Kings so compelling?

What makes the Oilers and Kings matchup so compelling? How big of a loss is Mattias Ekholm for Edmonton? What must go right for the Canadiens to beat the Capitals? What will Tom Wilson bring to the series against the Habs? Who do you think will win the Stanley Cup? TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button joined SC with Jay Onrait to discuss.

  1. I think the Oilers are playing possum.
If Kane, Hyman, and Fredrick are ready to go….They're gonna be a big problem.
Oh and perry doing what he's been doing

  2. For the Oilers to win two things need to happen. Jake Walman is as good as Ekholm, whether that value comes from offense or defence he needs to replace the value Ekholm gave. The second is health. These guys have been playing it safe. This forward group is full of people capable of scoring goals. I don't even know who they put on the bottom 6 and that is not a bad thing. So Walman being solid, and the health being good and this lineup is right up there with our SCF roster last year.

  3. The only reason the Kings even have a chance is due to all of the Oilers’ health concerns. With a full roster at 100%, Kings would be cooked. But this year, my money is on them.

  4. Everyone tough until they get punched in the nose. La kings have been punched 3 years in a row. I doubt they're going to act tough against the Oilers.

  5. Everyone is picking La. Everyone saying no Ekolm. No one is saying if Kane comes back like he did when they played the flames this oil team going to be hot.

  6. Oilers do not have the Goaltending,Oilers are to old to slow and to vanilla, they are going to take far to many penalties this year due to a lack of discipline and a need to simply keep up to the pace to score their ways out of their problems. Kings in 5.

  7. How many times have we see McDavid trailing the play as the other team scores? The Oilers will not play defensive hockey. They can lose 6 to 5 any day of the week. Love the socks, Craig. I wear the same kind myself.
