Nikola Jokić asked what he can do to help Porter stay engaged: “If you’re not going to be engaged right now, then you’re not supposed to be playing this sport.” He then said every game is different.

  1. “Sources in Denver tell me that they see a player that understands his power now.”

  2. Giannis and Jokic need to have a beer after the playoffs together. Having Kuz and MPJ as third options is sick

  3. This is really good for the Nuggets. Now that he’s the primary adult in the room, Jokic seems to have dropped the ‘I’m chill and don’t care that much about anything ‘ shtick.

  4. All the memes about Jokic not caring should be deleted. Man is fucking locked in

  5. Also David Adelman on MPJ:
“If Mike comes out and he plays, and he’s engaged defensively, and he’s knocking down shots, he’ll be out there.”

  6. Jokic is not playing around this year, not that he usually is but his demeanor is different.

  7. Why when we needed him to be disengaged during the Lakers series and he had all reasons to that’s when he locked in 😭

  8. Finally they are trying something different to:

The whole “don’t worry bro just keep shooting, the shots will fall” supportive crap clearly didn’t work.

It’s time to play, stop messing around

  9. They definitely trading MPJ in the offseason if they can find anyone desperate enough to take him. This might be the closest thing to something negative I’ve heard Jokic say about a teammate definitely sounds like even he’s over MPJ

  10. They took their team photo recently and MPJ isolated himself to the end of the photo nowhere near the starters and rotation players lol.

It’s weird because he’s one of the only guys who wasn’t a Malone OR Booth guy. Malone constantly benched him and would never run plays for him outside of like twice a game. But Booth also tried trading him every other week since like 23 lol. You’d think he’d be the happiest that both were gone

  11. If MPJ isn’t shooting great from three he is useless. He is terrible on man defense and a mediocre rebounder for his size and quickness.MPJ needs to fashion himself into a modern Robert Horry.

  12. I know it’s presumed Jokic will never leave Denver, but he has to be tired of the bullshit from the Nuggets on and off the court.

I get Denver is 4-0 since firing Malone, but you can’t have Prime Joker and brag about winning four in a row when the games feature Sacramento, the free-falling Grizzlies, Houston resting and the Clippers just completely shitting the bed. A win is a win, but the Clippers LOST that game.

20 turnovers. Jesus. For reference, the tankiest, most turnover prone team in the league this year (Utah) averaged 17 turnovers a game. And I want to say the announcers said they only had two in the first quarter.

And, as usual, Joker is correct. If you have to be encouraged to stay engaged in the PLAYOFFS, you don’t belong on an NBA roster.

Finally, while I’ve been a Westbrook defender often, I just don’t know how you watch him (even yesterday, when the Nuggets did win) and try to convince yourself that’s a player that will help you win 16 games in the postseason.

  13. Oh yikes, I saw he wasn’t playing in that game and I figured he was hurt. But he was just on the bench because he sucks? That’s not a great sign.

  14. At least the nuggets realize he adds nothing to the team if he isn’t knocking down shots and bench him. A lot team would keep playing him praying his shots start falling bc of his contract

  15. They should had traded MPJ earlier on when they can. MPJ is never worth that salary package, simply just an average at most 20m a season guy.

  16. Just do whatever it takes to trade him for KD. KD is passionate about the game and a legend.
