One of Arizona St RB Cam Skattebo last 2 visits is with the Lions

  1. The way the league is going with eyeing 18 regular season games (stupid imo) it will make sense for run heavy teams like us to have rotational guys deep in their RB room. Not saying Skattebo is going to be a Lion, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a mid round RB added on our roster this coming weekend.

Any team that’s going to want to lean on the run game at all is going to be 100% RB by committee going into the next few years at least.

  2. If this comes to fruition, I assume Vaki will be moved back to Safety (plus special teams) which would help us address our depth at the position. In Holmes we trust.

  3. A dream pickup in the middle rounds, would reduce the wear and tear on Dmo and Gibbs. Two back sets would be sick too for the red zone, cam at FB and Dmo in the backfield, with a two tight end set

  4. Call me crazy, he’s 100% not making it to Detroit unless Brad pulls a trade

This guy is so good and I’ll bet he has multiple teams eyeing him

  5. Gibbs and Montgomery are locked up until 2018. They won’t use a high draft pick for another RB with both of them for the next 3 years.

He is projected as a possible late 3rd but probably 4th round pick so they could take him as a 3rd back, or especially if Gibbs or Montgomery get hurt.

He’s a different type of back than Gibbs and Montgomery so that could be an advantage. He also is regarded as excellent receiving back so that fits the Lions offense with Gibbs and Montgomery also great with receiving out of the backfield.

  6. I would love this if he is still there in R2. He the right kind of player for these Lions…100% MCDC type of player and character.

  7. He would be insanely good here behind Gibbs. A common comp for Skattebo is David Montgomery with more receiving skill.

  8. All seriousness Skattebo and Gibbs would be a dominant combo once Monty is gone. But it’s just not a massive need to win it all this year.

  9. seems like he’s gonna go day 2

i would only take him with a day 3 pick given our current roster construction

  10. This is probably the best class for running backs we’ve seen in awhile, ngl.

  11. I was rooting for Skataboo during the CFP. Arizona state’s story was so amazing throughout the season, and it would have been amazing to see them win a game

  12. Imagine being a defensive player and seeing Penei Sewell coming full steam at you with Cam Skattebo in tow. Itd be like trying to tackle the physical embodiment of anger.

  13. Yeah makes sense we have the best 2 back system in the NFL. Let’s definitely draft a RB within the first 3 rounds. The crazy part is I wouldnt put it past them. He just said we dont draft for need.

  14. I’m an ASU alum. He is a beast. Physically and mentally. Would love to have him on the Lions! But! I would hope we could get him in the fourth round or later. Doubt that he’ll fall that far though.

  15. This guy is 100% a Dan Campbell guy. If nothing else, he’d be a monster on special teams.

  16. Skattebo is kinda a crap shoot in the draft a far as what round he’ll go. He isn’t a top tier athlete so he could slide pretty far but i feel like a team might reach for him early, like early 3rd round. He’s was reported to only run a 4.65s 40yard so that could drop him in the draft. He is a hard runner that will get you the first down, i actually view Montgomery as his best NFL comparison (Monty also posted a slow 40 time), but trying to predict that in the draft is difficult. I feel like he has media and fan hype, but I wouldn’t be shocked if he falls to day 3.

So, if lions are looking to draft him it kinda makes you wonder what is going on with Montgomery’s recovery. Potentially having to trade up in the 3rd round for a RB is an interesting move to say the least. Skattebo would be solid insurance and an upgrade over Vaki. Probably not a bad pick at pick 102 or 130.

  17. Dude reminds me of Monty when he runs with the ball. Not the quickest but definitely wont go down on the first hit
