Raise your hand if you thought it was going to be our pitching staff buoying our record. Ok, now put it down, liar.
I’m 100% convinced our approach to hitting is wrong this year. Who’s running out hitting program? We have looked unprepared a lot
This is all Nico’s fault.
Bah we’re just unlucky as hell. Most of the bats are making good contact…straight to an open glove.
Chris Young has managed to completely inverse the Rangers formula and its kind of wild to see. Elite pitching with zero offense. I’m sure the bats will eventually wake up, but I hope yall like 1-0 games until then
At least we aren’t owned by Nico.
Waited all last season and it didn’t happen
CY did his typical Monday radio [interview](https://go.audacy.com/tCxNgb6rLSb). He’s so hard to parse what he’s thinking, but I think a lineup shakeup is imminent.
The radio guys ask when can we expect a lineup shake/different leadoff hitter. They told him how fans call in all time and talk about how they want to see Wyatt at leadoff for example.
CY’s response:
>You know I think…[inaudible]…in all aspects of ways we can get these guys going and lineup construction is a big part of that. So I think that we are going to **really talk about different ways that we can position these guys within in the lineup to succeed**. The way we’ve been going about it the first few weeks of the season hasn’t necessarily produced the runs at the level that we’re expecting. Boch and I have had those conversations, the hitting coaches have been involved, and **we are very open to making some adjustments here** just trying to spark the offense and get em’ going and it doesn’t mean, again, that we don’t have confidence in these guys, it just means that when we’re not performing we need to be fluid and **make some changes that are gonna get these guys producing at the level that we expect**.
Who knows when these changes will be, but it’s nice to hear from CY. We have good players in the lineup, I think they’re just in the wrong spot.
I love Marcus, but he’s one of the bigger stinkers in the lineup currently and the thing about hitting leadoff is that it’s the one spot in the lineup that gets the most ABs in a game. I’d love to see Smith/Wyatt hitting leadoff, and if Marcus can get back to form then I’d have no complaints if Boch puts him back in leadoff.
I’ll be interested in seeing the changes CY is alluding to. It may not be in tomorrow’s lineup, but I think it’s the best proof we have to think they’re coming soon.
Looking to the future, if our offense does not drastically improve and we have an established rotation coming into next season, then I would suggest using our new availability of funds to acquire Munetaka Murakami. His 2024 campaign was not fantastic, but has produced at higher levels in the past and even his current production in the MLB would boost our offense. If we are unable to trade Pederson or Burger, then we could DH them to see who ends up producing with Murakami taking over first base. With Langford, Seager, Jung, Smith, and a good rotation, I still think we would have time to “win now” with an offensive upgrade.
As for now, I can only hope Semien, Burger, and Pederson find their groove or we make a quality trade for a bat.

That’s sad considering the talent we have

Luka would have a better batting average and higher OPS than Joc.
