‘Lack of continuity hurt Oilers’: Rishaug on what factored into Edmonton’s Game 1 loss

TSN Oilers reporter Ryan Rishaug joins SC with Jay Onrait to discuss how the Oilers dug themselves too big of a hole early against the Kings Monday night, how inconsistencies in defensive pairings allowed the Kings offence to hit their stride, and what Kris Knoblauch should do with his lines.

  1. Skinner is a joke. That was the change the Oilers needed to make before the deadline. McDavid puts the team on his back and then Stu lets in the first shot on goal after they came all the way back. Sad to say I knew it was coming.🤦‍♂️

  2. The oilers are going to get better over time, that was a lot of first time combinations for the oilers, and poor Kuemper, how do you come back from popping your pants that bad? No lead is safe with the oilers

  3. Dont worry oil fans its gonna be an early summer, and dont get delusional outside of a few forwards and ekholm this team is garbage and the faster you see it the better off you ll be and im from edmonton.

  4. Oilers have put together a team that can pot 5 goals in a tight, tough playoff game…just incredible offense.
….but they have a defense and a goalie that will give up more.
    Analysis complete.

  5. It is not noise, Skinner is an AHL level goalie, has been all year long. His positioning game shows very little Hockey-IQ, the media in and around the Oilers is completely and utterly biased towards Skinner. And Bouchard. And Knoblauch. All three are huge liabilities, and a big reason why McDavid may not even re-sign. Can they win still? Yes, but with inhumane level of effort from McDrai, and that is not a sustainable 'franchise'! From top to bottom mismanaged.

  6. That's such a stupid excuse to blame the fact that they were not ready due to injury. They had 82 games to get their line combinations ready. Every team deals with injuries.

  7. Continuity has nothing to do with it. The Kings smothered them successfully in the first 2 periods, then ran out of gas. The oilers did not (obviously..)

  8. Complaining about a goalie with a .800 save percentage, is not "noise", you buffoon. Tack on Skinner's past playoff where he nearly cost them a series on multiple occasions, and ya, maybe you should be running a lemonade stand instead.
