Franchise would be in Nashville if it wasn’t for Lou. Did his tenure end badly? Sure. However, he’s the reason NJ has a pro sports team in its name.
Too many devils fans shit on Lou. He made the devils a franchise to be respected. Any devils fan owes a lot to Lou. Hope he’s honoured immediately next season.
There is almost no chance he shows up.
I think he’d actually appreciate if his name just appears during a TV timeout and that’s it.
Lou is a legend and a hero to us. He was the one who got us Scott Stevens, and he also made the heist of the century trading draft spots with Calgary essentially giving them Trevor Kidd and we got The GOAT! Could you imagine how different our history would be if we had Trevor Kidd in goal? Lou may be a bit of a dinosaur, but we owe that dude our entire franchise.
I have to believe they had the plans ready and waiting for him to retire. He is arguably the most important figure in franchise history who not only kept the Devils alive but turned them into a juggernaut for a good decade and a half.
I would love for them to give him some BS position so he can retire within the organization that he brought 3 championships to.

He really needs to be in the rafters. I know thats for retiring players’ numbers but if anyone deserves the honor – it’s Lou. So future generations of devs fans can confusingly ask WHO is that diva and be met with the full lore.
