All this is sugarcoating and icing. He as well as players, coaches, and staff can say and do whatever they want. At the end of the day, Bonehead Vivek will fumble. That is the only thing consistent about him and this org. He likes to fumble.

As far as his conference goes I'd give it a B/B+. Hopefully he gets the authority to do what he needs to get done, and his relationship with Vivek allows him that. I like that he wants to "interview" with all the players and get their input, along with not actually hiring Doug right away(id be more okay with it, if Doug or whoever had a younger roster to help mold) and seeing what options he has.
Winning the press conference doesn't equal "sustainable winner".
Hopefully he's not just a Vivek puppet
