25. 3rd period made it a more tolerable loss, that 2nd period was bad bad bad.

    Laine benched through the 6 on 5 was pretty surprising to me.

26. Doomers need to go elsewhere. We’re being insanely competitive with a very strong cup contender. We didn’t even expect to be in the playoffs. I’m fucking happy with how we are playing and this series is not over yet.

31. Tough series so far, we have yet to play a complete game and the reffing has been bruuutal. Not sure how these blatant cross checks to the face keep going uncalled. Should’ve had a four minute power play and instead get nothing.

33. 3 miss cross checks to the head against the Habs this series and none of them have been called. That’s fucking inexcusable. The league is lucky the Habs haven’t retaliated to any of them.

35. I’m still not very impressed with the Caps play, Montreal were very good in the third, but flubbed the second completely.

    If they can manage a complete game I don’t think we need to worry about the Caps so much.

    These are growing pains, and it’s lovely to watch the Habs in the playoffs.

    Feeling this sad after a loss is oddly a nice feeling.

    – You have to finish the chances. That’s the story. Right after the great first goal Habs had some borderline gimmies. Evans missing there as well, the breakaway… not a recipe for an upset missing all those.

    – The second period could have been way worse. The thing is Washington is obv a good team no doubt but man are these winnable.

    – Laine. Fully justified to sit in the third. No effort, and what’s even more surprising is that powerplay shot was awful.

    – I need to see more Demidov. Yes he has had clear giveaways and tbh hasn’t looked good (obv young player ik ik 4 games etc) but play him.

    – How many cross checks to the head are our guys gonna take?

    – I don’t think all is lost here. The team plays sooo much better at home and regardless the bell will be rocking. They need 2 here though… this team is very weird in a way there is a chance.

40. I think X gets the call just to shake things up and give the team a boost. Need to cross check our way to a game 3 win. Dunno who sits though.

42. Insane they gave that cross checking call on anderson to start the game and missed 3 cross checks to the face after that

43. we had three gimme goals and whiffed on them all. literally inches away from this W. that goal off of a lackadaisical Savard’s skate in front of the net definitely gives ammo to the Arber Army though.

44. We need to cross check more. It’s the way. Look at Vegas / Florida / Tampa. The dirtier you play the more you get rewarded because the refs try to game manage and call an even number of penalties on both teams. I don’t like it but it’s what works.

45. Bummer loss. But I’m oddly at peace. We’re competing hard with the Caps and this series could easily be tied going back to Montreal. Hate that no call on Caufield. That was as obvious as it gets.

    The future is bright and that’s what counts right now.
