  1. Bednar has been clear that Gabe will go when Gabe says he’s ready to go. We’ve been told Gabe has incremental steps he’s taking to prepare and it appears taking team warmups yesterday was part of that mental preparation if nothing else. I was at the first Eagles game back where he acknowledged remembering simple things like his old warmup routine was part of the overwhelm of the moment. Those first games were awesome and also a lot for him to process at once, I’m sure, having not played in a game for three years. He clearly wants to be confident in his readiness. He hasn’t come this far to squander it—for himself or the team. It seems likely the home-ice advantage of last change also could be a factor that could help set him up for success. I think Gabe is committed to doing this right and knows better than to rush anything including the mental side of this.

  2. I get your an Avs podcast and don’t watch the Stars, but that was by far not the Stars best game all season long. There’s a reason they are the two seed, just haven’t looked like it the past few weeks. Good show though.
