[Brad Biggs] (@BradBiggs) on X: #Bears are choosing Texas DT Shemar Turner with the 62nd overall pick in Round 2. Very nice addition to the middle of the defensive line. Dennis Allen finally gets in on the action.

  1. Ok but are we really just gonna have Deandre Swift back there again this year?

  2. Yeah saw him there with our last pick and was wondering if he was our guy. Then Seth Rollins happened and I got distracted.

  3. as an aggie. this pick excites me very much. hes my favorite out of the three aggies taken so far.

  4. If this dude pans out, we now have 4 solidly above average to very good interior DL. That is the kind of depth that wears down an opponent’s OL. Interior push is so underrated

  5. This kid is a bit of a nutcase. Every A&M game I watched, he either drew a stupendously stupid personal foul, picked a fight, or both. They better spend the off-season drilling the Aggie out of him.

  6. Good pick. I’m slightly higher on Alexander, but Turner might be a better scheme fit for Allen. Glad we used these two picks to address trenches.

  7. Dane Brugler on Turner:

    > A three-year starter at Texas A&M, Turner played a three-technique role as a senior in head coach Mike Elko’s four-man front, logging
    > snaps everywhere from zero- to seven-technique. After playing primarily on the edge as an underclassman, he added weight for the transition
    > inside in 2024 and made his presence known on every tape studied, despite playing through a stress fracture.
    >
    > With his active motor and body quickness, Turner finds ways to pierce gaps and affect the backfield action. He has a strong, explosive grip to
    > snatch and displace blockers in the run game, although he can be a liability at times when he abandons his gap or fails to break down and finish.
    > Much will be made of his overzealous tendencies, which draw attention from officials, but as one scout described him: “He’s the type you want on
    > your side.” **Overall, Turner needs to introduce more discipline to his play style, but he prides himself on being the aggressor and relies on his
    > initial twitch, fierce hands and combative mentality to be a factor. He projects best as a penetrating one-gap tackle.**
    >
    > GRADE: 2nd round (No. 56 overall)

  8. I love the idea of DT, I just do not think he is a good player. Omar Norman Lott and Darius Alexander will be better players.

  9. Alright what’s the new complaint now that Poles has addressed the trenches??

  10. Like what they’ve done so far. Having both buckeye backs gone by 39 is my only complaint because I do believe they would’ve drafted judkins or Henderson if available.

Having all these picks but swap in Henderson for Burden and I think that would be top notch.

  11. As an Ag, Shemar is my dude and I’m thrilled. He plays his ass off, one of my favorite Ags in recent memory. He’s gonna make stupid penalties, but the dude just loves the game and wants to win

  12. Hate this pick. 21% missed tackle rate, 6% pass rush win rate, not a good run defender, bad grades across the board, only two sacks last year with a really low pressure percentage, and can’t take on double-teams. This is Zacch Pickens 2.0. Downvote me all you want.

Omarr Norman Lott, CJ West, and Jamaree Caldwell were right there if we wanted DL.

  13. Feels more like pickens pick.
    Missed 23 tackles, awful.
    Averaged 1 stop a game.
    No explosive plays.
    Gets multiple penalties.
And we used a 2nd oh him.
    Awful day, come on Poles!

  14. Ok now this pick i love. Tough as nails and atheltic as hell. Capable of getting some sacks from the inside. But Dayo better be worth the money, cuz we have nothing else at Edge haha

  15. He’s an absolutely elite hand fighter, and if he’s big/strong enough to actually play inside in the league, he’ll be incredibly difficult to deal with. He might be the kind of guy that blows up in 2 years if he focuses on getting bigger the right way.

  16. Aggie fan here. Thought Shemar was the most dominant player on the Aggie DL despite two players from the unit drafted ahead of him. At times he was completely unblockable. He does, however, run hot at times. Like “out of body experience I’m about to commit felony assault” hot.
