  3. A great win to start out the west coast trip. Just a dominant win and everything was clicking today, a pretty solid outing for Sale with 5 innings 1 run, bullpen was great with Santos, Lee, Chavez, and Bummer. Great game from the offense as Riley, Harris, and White all had great games. Holmes on the mound tomorrow, let’s go braves #ForTheA

  10. Notes from the Game:

    + Not the Best Start from Sale, but one that was NEEDED From Him. 5 Innings, Allowing Just 1 Run on 5 Hits, Walking 2 and Striking Out 4. Sale Improves to 1-2 with an ERA of 5.40. Slider Location seems to be the issue currently, as Hitters are not going after it currently. If he can get that sorted out, we may see Cy Young-Caliber Sale before we know it.

    + Bullpen did a GREAT Job Tonight! De Los Santos, Lee, A Returning Jesse Chavez, and Bummer Combined to FINISH the Final 4 Innings, Allowing Just 1 Run on 2 Hits, Walking 3 and Striking Out 4! Not a Save Situation for Aaron Bummer, but he did Sit the D-Backs Down 1-2-3 in the 9th, getting a K in the Process!

    ROTATION TOTAL: 9 Innings, 2 Runs, 7 Hits, 5 Walks, 8 Strike Outs, NO Home Runs Allowed! (Almost was 1 due to Refball)

    6-13 with RISP, 8 Runs Total, and all WITHOUT a Super Missile? Call me Impressed!

    + THE GREAT WHITE SHARK IS EARNING HIS STRIPES! 2-4 with A Single, Double, and a Reach on FAILURE, Totaling 2 RBIs on the Night! White Steps Up to a .280 Average with an OPS of .837! KEEP STARTING HIM!

    + VERDUGIE KEEPS MAKING SOLID CONTACT! 1-5 with an RBI Double in the 2nd, Though Made Contact in EVERY AB! Verdugo holds onto a .259 OPS wiht an OPS of .693!

    + AUSTIN 3:16 KEEPS SMACKING THEM BALLS LEFT AND RIGHT! 2-4 with Two Singles and 2 RBIs! Riley Jumps up to a .304 Average with an .869 OPS!

    + NICK ALLEN CONTINUES TO SURPRISE ME! 1-3 with a Walk, Single, and RBI! Allen Stands in with a .273 Average and .649 OPS!

    + EVEN THE OZ-MAN GOT IN ON THE FUN! 1-5 with an RBI Double of his own in the 8th, and Made Contact in Every AB! Albies clings to a .232 Average and .690 OPS!

    + OTHER NOTABLES: Despite having an 0-4 Night with 2 Ks, Ozuna WAS able to get on base via a Walk. And While Murphy had 3 Ks on the Night, he did get 1 Hit, Meaning EVERY Brave found their way on-base at some point in this game!

    + BRAVES START A NEW WIN STREAK WITH AN OPENING SERIES WIN! Sale got to 5 Innings, Then the Bullpen TOOK CARE OF THE REST, The Offense CHOPPED AWAY, and the Defense was STOUT! AN ALL-AROUND VICTORY FOR THAT THE BRAVES NEEDED!

    + The Marlins Won, The Nationals gave us the First Episode of LOLMets, and the Phillies Have Fallen Back to .500 in the Gun C-I Mean, Windy City! This Puts the Braves 6 1/2 Back of York, 1 1/2 Behind Philly, 1 Back of Miami, and 1/2 behind Washington. PLEASE tell me the rest of this Division WON'T be a case of 'Who keeps their head above the Basement Floor'….

    TOMORROW:

    Round 2 of 3 Between the Braves and Diamondbacks will take place Under the Evening Skies of Chase Field. Merrill Kelly will answer the call for Arizona, Who's coming off a Respectable Outing against the Cubs, in which he allowed Just 1 Run on 2 Hits, Walking 1 and Striking Out 5 in a No Decision.

    Meanwhile, Grant Holmes will take up Battle Stations for the Braves, who's coming off a Respectable Outing of his own: Allowing just 1 Run on 4 Hits, Walking 4 and Striking Out 7 against the T's… and Getting the Win!

    Can Holmes and the Braves make it Three Straight and Claim another Series Win?

    Or Will Kelly and the Diamondbacks show that they have some Bite left?
