  1. As an Avs fan, this one was a heart breaker. We were so pumped to see Landy back on the ice. But this was such a let down. I, for one, never thought this series was going to be easy, but I hope the Avs can get it together and go back to playing their game. For some reason, Dallas is just so good at getting the Avs off their game. Go Avs! fingers crossed

  2. So when Dallas wins this series, do they go undefeated for the rest of the cup?

(Frantically knocks on wood, laminate, guitars, pencils, any organic material nearby)

  3. As aq Stars fan, I can honestly say that it was great seeing Gabe Landeskog back on the ice. Yeah, I'm glad the Stars won the game, but my God, Landeskog has been out injured three years. About the only player I can think of who lost so much of their career other than Landekog is Mario Lemieux. So yeah, it is great seeing him back. GREAT!

  4. Lindell is one of the best defensive defender in the NHL, but doesn't get as much recognition that he deserves. Very underrated player.

  5. Avs win game one in Dallas 5 to 1. Dallas squeaks out a win in game two 4 to 3 in OT. Dallas keeps the game close and squeaks out a second win in game three 2 to 1. Interesting series. We'll see if the Avs can bring more pressure when they have a lead, if they have a lead again. "Dallas has exceeded my expectations" seems a bit different than your prediction they would win the Stanley Cup but sure. 😁

  6. This is where it comes down to coaching. What once worked no longer works, time to make adjustments and use what you have at hand. Allowing a power play unit like that to go 0 for 6 and to not see a line swap at least worrys me heavily. Good game good series dallas

  7. Shoot how did the avs collapse so badly? How are they losing to a minor league team (outside of goal rn) that hadn’t won a game in almost half a month?

  8. We need a Coaching Carousel review please. Which teams need a new coach or might fire after their playoff round is over. Then a list of coaches waiting by the phone + qualified NHL assistants & AHL head coaches ready to make the JUMP!

  9. I'm surprised there's no mention of all the soft calls in this game and/or the lack of embellishment calls. Colorado had one or two that could be considered dives and Dallas had quite a few more.

  10. Just going to emphasize that the Stars are playing without their #1 offensive and defensive players. If the Avs were playing without McKinnon and Makar no one would expect them to win the series, but somehow the Stars are finding a way to get it done.

  11. Gotta mention Seguin – this guy has Playoff 4-Leaf Clovers or the like. This may be the most interesting series, unless we see some big turn-arounds when the other game threes start up in Montreal, Edmonton and St Louis, etc.

  12. This match was really entertaining hockey, a fast-paced and well-coached game, although Bednar seemed very disappointed after the game. Colorado had its moments to win and this time the puck just bounced more fortunately to Dallas. Lande's return brought a little extra excitement to the home team and its fans and his family's encouragement was moving. When Dallas' veterans (e.g. Benn and Seguin) warm up alongside Rantanen, the result can be murderously good. Granlund has brought an extra boost, especially in special situations. Lindell has always been an ultimate invisible workhorse of the defense and when Heiskanen returns (hopefully well recovered), there will be more potential in the offensive as well. Maybe we'll go to game seven here. It's a shame that one of two such good teams is already eliminated in the 1st round.

  13. Bichsel got up talking like Michael Jackson – five octaves higher than his normal voice.
As a Stars fan the swetest part of the game was MacKinnon taking an incredibly stupid Tripping penalty and then Benn scoring on the PP, which essentially cost his team the game. That's hilarious.

  14. As a Stars fan I’ve been very pleased the way Blackwood has played ā€˜small’ in the OT’s on both goals….Blackwood kneels on both OT goals and stays down making himself ā€œsmallā€ like a midget….leaving the whole top of the net wide open.

Really weird the way Blackwood just stays kneeling as #15 for the Stars just circles-back and chips it over his shoulder…..and then Seguin in the next OT approaches the net, and Blackwood, again, is kneeling for 5 secs so Seguin chips it over his shoulder again.

    Thanks Blackwood!!!

If i was an Avs fan I’d be screaming GET THE F UP BLACKWOOD!!!! Make yourself ā€œBIGā€ā€¦not ā€˜midget-like’

  15. I was so frustrated by the Avs offense in this game. 0 for 6 on the Power Play. The couldn't get any significant offensive zone time for so long. They've got to play a whole lot better to come back in this series.

  16. I love the fight in this Stars team. So much grit. I said to myself, "no matter what happens the rest of the way, this team can be proud."

  17. This game really made it clear just how much the Avs need to change up the approach to the powerplay. To spend six opportunities trying and failing on the exact same setup is disheartening–not to mention when you spend three and a half minutes in overtime doing the same thing.

This is a very even series and I think both teams can still take it so long as the Avs stop being fancy with it. We saw Dallas hammering pucks at Blackwood, and the Avs need to do the same thing to Ottenger. You can't score if you're not throwing the puck to the net.

  18. Avs are playing scared. Theyre supposed to be a high skilled team? Why are they so scared to handle the puck? Theyre forcing passes when the dman just looks their way. Looks like a coaching issue. Nobody is playing for eachother except the 3rd or 4th line. Mackinnon looks like 2017 mack. Shit passing, all hot to trot to turn it over at the blue line and make lacrosse passes to his poor line mates. Nate playing by himself and the rest of the team trying to appease him.

  19. As an Avs fan, every time Sam Steel gets the puck, I'm stressing, because he is generating a LOT of pressure for a 4th liner.
If Dallas takes the series, I hope he gets the proper recognition for the playoff player that he is showing to be.
