NHL Game 6 Highlights | Maple Leafs vs. Senators – May 1, 2025
Here we go. Game six underway with Austin Matthews, Matthew N. Mitch Martner out against the There is Plus Homeberg who’s out with McMahon and Doy. And here’s McMahon on the front going to the net and Bberg just got a piece of that not give anyone any chance for Tvar. There’s the collision and all of a sudden McMahon gets that open ice. just tried to get it up and the Leafs up with a puck and moving ahead to McCabe. Jake McCabe into the Ottawa zone. Now it’s over sending that on goal. A rebound came loose. Nick Jensen will take the diagonal shooting and stuff with a drive right on Stolars. Still on the event summary here. Alex, not William. Here comes Wley Grigg to the net and Stard turns him aside. high and watch he gets behind Morgan Riley. A little bounce pack that he’s able to control and just drive into the net there. There’s the jumps towards Ny and here’s Ny streaking down the ice again. Per spin around the back end. Lar turns [Applause] away. Ny had six shots to lead the Leafs in game five. So the penalty drawing to a close and Ottawa without a shot so far as John Tarz gets it to return. Maybe a chance here for Zetterland that he got the shot on goal. Working his way in. Great pass and another in front. Dander to the edge. Oh, what a stop and Pati puts the rebound wide. Save in front. The rebound in front right side to side. gets the toe on it and then somehow that puck is in play. Off the toe, off the post, underneath. That’s when Larson jumped. Had to get back on. Nearly too many for Toronto. Bobby McMahon. Here comes Benois. Simon Benois plays it wide. Lean getting turned back by Tavaris. On comes Matten Paulo. He’ll step up. Swings in behind the leaf. N. The sharp angle’s gone. Matt Paulo back. That picked off by Lton trying to center. Can’t escape. Comes across. Carlo to the net and that’ll sticker again. This time gets it on the tape for Matthews. Leafs are on end of a shift as Matthews flips it in and forces back to Knander. 88 now. That last power play goal as you saw in the pregame 2018. Matthews scores. Slid it through. Power play goal. The Leafs strike first in game six. There’s an example of a guy who needed a goal badly. Something on your shot to get it through the traffic. There’s other times where position is everything. Lots of time, no chance at all. Omar goes to his left. Matthews just slides that one down. The velocity on that not something that you typically see, but look at his head up and you couldn’t have put it anywhere else to get it in the back of the net. There’s about 2 and 1/2 in there and the late reaction there of all not being able to see through N. I loved even the little stare there by Peruvi down. That goal is obviously of huge importance too. The the Leafs have only lost three games this season. Had the edge in shots has lost four times and the other time the shots were dead [Applause] even coming up with a puck. Knander in scores. William Knander in the opening minute of the second period. The one thing coaches can’t stand is a goal in the last minute, minute and a half of a period or the first minute. Well, the Senators have been guilty of two. Jensen can’t control it. And there’s shooter against goalender. Good patience there by Knander. Again, never looking down at the puck. That for me is one of my favorite spots to shoot. Under the blocker, over the pad 14 in for Knander. A two nothing lead for Toronto here in game six. He’ll flip it toward the net. It bounces across and a chance there from Peretti who looked skyward after that opportunity. Kipped in at the line and sipped it back in by McKe Knander after it. Paseretti was lining up for a hit. He had five in the opening period. Back the other way comes Ottawa. It’s David Far and Stard around the boards it goes and it’s Stutzler. Thomas Shabbat and Stutzler with a drive that goes high. A loose puck in front gets fired off. Stard kept alive at the line by Stocla. Now kneelander trying to spring Lton but the pass knocked down by Stola back in. Go in his last two and Snoward with a big save there as five and a half. Stanley got the playoff game. I didn’t think oh plumped out chance here and passed across again. and Vinci Deander are out there along with Lent Shabbat. He’ll take the shot scores 101 Brady [Applause] Kuck. Senators, they get in and create the turnover. Good pressure in the corner. Watch the cave into Kachchuck. He gets one low, goes down, takes away the stick of McCabe. So McCabe is late getting back to the front of the net. Kachchuck, to his credit, popped right back up. Thomas Shabbat with his head up. And how about this tip up and over backing him up is Bath shooting that wide. McMahon can’t reach it. That one played on goal. Still loose. And now Patretti on it. Back to Tamaris and a fan by Carlo. A knee lander shot right off. First puck off the post. The post and back. We’ve seen a couple of these already. Slides off the post. Back between the legs. That tried to steer that towards Tvaris. Kneelander gets on it. Now Tvaris is in with Tanv. Flipping it in front. Puck gets side to side. Tanv sees that there’s going to be traffic in front. That creates a little problem. You know you’re going to get a rebound. The rebound right there to Knander and tries to bank it in. team. Even the longest tenure guys have done a good job staying present. Pass will be easier to ignore if they can close in this third. Chris Big challenge there by Jaru and Jaru comes up with a puck. Pumps it back and Kuck off the post. Close call there. It’s fired back in by yourself by McCabe. Creates this opportunity and a deflection of Stupsa. You can see his reaction. Homeark goes to play that Dobby off the side of the net. Here’s a Homeberg back. Jake McCabe with the shot and it’s blockered up onto the screen by his partners here. We’ve seen a couple times when he’s held on and just the route that he took goes right back onto the stick of goalie off the side of the net and now afterwards just trying to scramble and get yourself reset. The Leafs unable to in behind nine picks it up. Can’t clear. A chance here and Javant keeps it alive. Greg recovers his stick. Peran on it. Leaps back and [Applause] for behind the net. Backed in by Pon. The game is [Applause] tied. The turnover there. And David Peron brought here to be one of those guys who in the big games can find a way to do something positive. Well, he’s done the unthinkable here. Tough angle from behind the line off the head and back into the back of the net. They couldn’t get the set up. They made a here’s a twoonone break and home and shot off the blow mark in behind the net. Tommy digs it out. Here’s Tommy for Ben. He scores backs. Pat, you’re [Applause] ready. Got four guys deep in the zone. And watch Pat Ready just get away from the traffic. Away from the traffic. You’re ready to shoot. Good screen in front. And that’s one again. Garu ended up on the puck. That puck turned over though. Here’s nine in front and a big stop by Omar of Scott Lton. Hand goal and what a chance for Scott Lton to follow up. That’s tied up a little with the official under a half minute to go. Sanderson shot blocked by Lton. Knander working out. Knander with a step pulled down. Backhand scores and the Leafs have a twogoal lead. [Applause] Lotton brought here for this very reason. And then there’s not many times you’re going to see William Knander with empty net win a race. Just a great job of keeping his legs going through a penalty. And man, all the pressure of losing game five on home ice, the one and 13. A couple of more stops and it will do it. The Leafs are bound for the second round.
William Nylander buried two goals and added an assist, Max Pacioretty scored the game-winning goal and Anthony Stolarz made 20 saves to help the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Ottawa Senators 4-2 and win the series in six games.

At least maple leafs will get at least 5 more games or just 4 😂 no way there beating the Panthers
Thank god we don't have to play Tkachuk anymore….oh wait.
🍁🍁🍁
This series could've ended in 5 for Ottawa. So crazy the small things could change an outcome completely.
Where are all the great hockey experts who keep making fun of teams’ failiures? So the Leaves didnt choke and arent pathetic after all? Gg Leaves!
1st line down to the 4th line played their hearts out, stolarz fantastic! Great series Ottawa Matthews and nylander stepped up big, hard series coming up
Anyone else notice the excitement difference between Tampa Series win to this Series win. No emotion. Job isn't done. This team is different no matter what anyone says.
sens got worked
GG Ottawa, That was one hell of a series.
Leafs fans were already thinking "please Jesus not again"😊
Big dub
damn i was hoping to see this go to game 7
Nice work Sens now it’s time to get the Thachuck outta here.
8:11 i need a better angle on this shot please 😮
Nice try, Ottawa. Good on making the playoffs. We need some tweaks in the off-season before we can compete with the big boys. A skillful top six forward who can be relied on outside of Brady and Stutzle. A top defenseman, hopefully Yakemchuk, and Merilianen as the backup next year who will eventually supplant Ullmark as I think he will be a better goalie sooner than later. Go Panthers!!!
Now onto the next Tkachuk😅
Thank god the Leafs won the series in 6. I couldn't stand to watch them choke in game 7.
Sens gave the Leafs' fans plenty of heart attacks this round, almost did the funny. Appreciate it. GG.
9:37 nice to see Auston give props to the pluggers, who do the unheralded work, like Laughton’s shot block just before Willie’s break.
BOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Really disappointed in Nylander with that empty net goal. He should have slap shot it in.
Toronto tried desperately to lose but somehow didn't. Their shot selection lacks the determination that you see from teams that really want to win. Except for Nylander, they looked like they were prepared to choke again.
Stolez
Canadians from coast to coast are a lot more quiet tonight. What happened? 😂 It’s suppose to be prime time in Vancouver right now. You were all getting ready to troll but now you hide in shame under your umbrellas. Looks like more rain in the forecast for you! And as for Montreal, your wimpy undersized team had the EASIEST path to the playoffs and only made it due to the teams behind them crapping the bed in the final stretch. You suck! Ottawa? What is there to say. Whiner fans and whiner coach who influenced the officiating in this series from game 2 onwards. Your hometown referee Francis Charron couldn’t it get it done tonight boys, I’m sorry. Maybe the 6th time will be the charm.
They finally made it to the second round. Keep up the good work, Leafs.
Max Domi is a player I love to watch. He digs down deep every time he is on the ice. Keep us entertained, Max!! 🇨🇦
Stop crying, bro. We going to the second round!
Go Florida!!!
The Arizona Connection of Matthews⇔Knies is likely to improve its system from next year onwards. I think the Bottom Six FW's controlled the game well today.
Paccio's goal was the best, but if B6 and 4DF fight on equal terms with the enemy,
the burden onTOP6 will be reduced and the chances of winning will increase.
Too bad another Canadian team is out. Now Canadians only have the Oilers and Jets to root for. 😂

If the Leafs struggled to beat a young inexperienced team like Ottawa, Panthers are gonna eat em alive.
Ullmark had to have that Patches shot. Had to. Team JUST tied it, had the momentum and the crowd going, then boom, total deflater. Leafs better play a lot better in round 2 because Florida actually has finishers. Stolarz could steal the series though if he keeps playing like he is. THE PARADE IS STILL ON!
ggs ottawa great fight/series props to u guys forsure. FLA here we come😈 hope to get that revenge
Sens……you had one job.
Thank you, Maple Leafs. Thank you for eliminating the Sens. Double thank you for doing it in Ottawa. Sens fans: it’s a bad idea to sing/chant/taunt during the game when your team hasn’t done ANYTHING. Thank you for jinxing them. BTW: Redwings/Maple Leafs would have gotten much better ratings. You are dismissed.
