The kiprisoff injury really derailed their season, even though he came back, they were one of the top 3 teams easily this year before the injury, and looked like a wild card team after it even when he came back.

Minnesota has been the definition of a middling team for damn near 20 years. Probably longer but I only really been following hockey since the early 2000s. But they’ve never really been terrible nor have they ever really been great. They’ve always just been good. It’s remarkable consistency when you think about it.

Still better than not making the playoffs at all.
There will still be a portion of the fan fan base that actually thinks this is an incredible accomplishment and be happy as long as the wild make the playoffs. They don’t need to do anything once they’re in, just getting there and getting embarrassed in the frost round is exciting for some wild fans.
