So, we have the Athletics 1715 as we can see here taking on the Marlins who are 12 and 18. Marlins are eight and eight at home. Athletics have been good on the road 11 and six. Current line on this game look like we’ve got the Athletics laying around minus 135 heading up to 140 here at FanDuel. You can get anywhere from plus 115 to plus 120 on the side of Miami. This line isn’t available everywhere as there is some uncertainty in the pitching matchups. It looks like the Athletics are going to be going with Gunner Hogland who’s going to be making his major league debut. Now, I’ve mentioned this before. I’m not a huge fan of debut pitchers laying juice in any circumstance. I just don’t like it. We don’t know enough about them. We don’t know how they’re going to how nerves are going to get to them. And I always find that an interesting angle. So, we have to look at that. Now, the thing with Miami, they’re allowing 6.2 runs per game, which is which is terrible. Their pitching has been awful. Those numbers are inflated due to some fielding errors. They have created big innings for opponents. We saw that in their last game against the Dodgers. However, on the athletic side, they’re also allowing five runs per game. They have a winning record despite allowing more than they’re scoring. That shouldn’t be expected to last. Now, one thing I will say here when it comes to athletics, they’re the ones laying juice. They’re the ones with a debut pitcher likely on the mound against Valante Bologo likely who has already been pretty good this season. Uh if we look at him, he’s Bologo for Miami. Uh two games so far, decent strikeout percentage. Don’t love that walk rate, but he has a 2.25 ERA. Now, keep in mind, Athletics are laying juice, but they are allowing five runs per game. So, I wanted to have a look at anytime we have a team that is allowing at least five runs per game after 20 games in a season. So, we’re not factoring in any early season, you know, big games or anything. A teams that allow at least five runs per game that are listed as away favorites has been horrible. This is the thing. Team average, they’re allowing five runs at least. Game number game 20 and they’re away favorites. You can see we have the Athletics here. They’re only winning at a 50% rate as favorites. So, like a coin flip for a minus 9.9% ROI. Big sample size over a,000 games. A plus 7.4% return of investment fading them, which would be the Marlins. Marlin’s offense is actually pretty good. It’s not amazing. Um, but it’s pretty good. You know, their batting average is good. Um, they’re struggling to drive runs in a lot of the time. Their their WRC plus isn’t the best, but this is a team that’s serviceable. Like I said, they’re they’re, you know, eight and eight at home. I don’t think the Athletics continue to run at 11 and six on the road. Um strength of schedule for uh Oakland, they’re not Oakland anymore, but for the Athletics hasn’t been great either. Miami have played a tough strength of schedule. Give me the Marlins here. Home dogs plus 115 to plus 120. Anything you can find. I like it. That is going to be today’s free play.
