Diamondbacks Option OF Jake McCarthy to Triple-A Reno

The Arizona Diamondbacks announced today that they have optioned outfielder Jake McCarthy to Reno and the corresponding move is calling up outfielder Jorge Barrosa. Manager Tory Lavo provided the club’s reason on the move. Jake has had a tough run of it. You know, sometimes this is a a savage business and it just it wasn’t the game wasn’t working for him. There was there was you know, the at bats and the numbers matter. It’s just where we are. It’s unfortunate there there were some mistakes that were being made around his game that we felt like it was all connected and it starts to trickle into other parts of your game such as, you know, the pickoffs or or some of the plays that he was failing to make on defense. We couldn’t help but start to take notice that um just a little bit of a reboot might might matter to him. Um he wasn’t comfortable with the decision. I didn’t expect him to be comfortable with the decision, but I know Jake is built on the right things and he’s going to find his way back here because I do believe and I will say this like I said it every year, our best outfield and our best team has Jake in it.   2. I’m not at all a Jake believer. And why do they play him in center? He’s awful there. Can’t read a ball off the wall and slow to react. It would be nice to have a guy with an arm out there too. None of our Outfielders can throw!
    That being said, I still like Alec Thomas at Center. When consistent, he’s my favorite diamondback.
