Nathan MacKinnon STUNNED By “Shocking” Dallas Stars Game 7 Comeback, Credits Mikko Rantanen

[Music] I don’t know. It’s uh pretty shocking, I guess. I don’t know. Just felt like we’re in total control over. Credit to him. He he made some amazing plays. So, uh yeah, he was a he was a differencemaker. He took over and uh yeah, I don’t know. I’m in shock to be honest. It felt like we were in complete control of the game the whole time and just lost. I hate to ask you this right after, but is this like the most shocking disappointing loss? Yeah, definitely agree. Definitely. Does the fact that it was before does that make it any more of a twist of the knife? Does it matter at this point? Um I guess just overall for the series, the powerful wasn’t good. What whenever you look back on it, what’s what are you going to do with the powerful? I don’t know. I think make better adjustments. Um, bad looks not going in. Um, yeah, bad adjustments. You, like you said, it seemed like you were in control of this one. You were playing the game you wanted to play. Did they do anything different after your goal in the third? No. I think Nico went bar down and uh I don’t know what happened on the PK goal and then obviously the wrap around G’s foot and it’s crazy I don’t know way it goes I know like from the outside people are going to look at this and say look two of the best teams in the league went to break down to the wire in game seven but is it hard for you guys to feel like you can win the Stanley Cup and go out in the first round? Yeah, definitely. I mean, they were missing their best D and maybe their best forward. So, we still still couldn’t beat them. So, um yeah, I don’t know. I don’t know what we’re going to do. Thanks. Thanks. [Music]

  1. Dying to see an interview of Avs GM MacFarland on this debacle (as soon as someone can find the rock he's hiding under). Joe Sakic handed him the most perfect team to run as GM and he decides to slowly dismantle it. This game will go down as one of the biggest 'karma' games in NHL history.

  2. Ray Bennett needs to be replaced, the AV’s assistant coach lead us to 3/22 PP , missed a DOUBLE MINOR PP opportunity, and 3rd period 2 goal lead PP
OUR PK played better offensively MY GODDDDDS

  3. MacKinnon is a class act as are the rest of the Avalance team! He never said anything but good things about Mikko after he was traded and the other way around. Mikko never said anything bad about his former team mates he respects them all. Both of these guys and Lande, Makar also are still probably shocked that it ever even happened! What I said couple months back was that GM and management of that team made a HUGE!!! mistake and I'm sorry but I'm really glad that it came to bite them in the butt. I don't blame the coach either he gets a clean sheet from me. But rest of the management that decided that he is not worth 500k more a year… Well all I gotta say is that this cost you way more than just 500k. Stupid and as simple as that! His playoff sheet is phenomenal and every one wrote him out before the playoffs even started. When all the supposedly better players in AVS were gone couple years back he kept AVS floating and even then was hardly recognized for it. He played center, he played what ever was asked of him and AVS fans f'd him over after the trade. Booing even in these games to him… that's what children do. I hope you learned something out of this. He still said nothing bad against Colorado Avalance, players or anyone in that organisation. All my respect to Mikko and him doing things when they are needed the most!

  4. How pissed is Mack at the GM right now?😂😂😂😂

God, i love this so much.

When does Mack atart getting some heat for all his playoff failures?

  5. Only this team could have lost this game 2-0 lead with less than 10 min!!!! to go. This team is shit! Done with them. 🖕🖕🖕🖕🤮🤮🤮🤮🤬🤬🤬🤬

  6. Had Nichuskin put the slightest effort on a back-check on his own idiotic pass, Rantanen wouldn’t have had ALL DAY to load up on his first goal.

Dude looked like ‘08 Ovechkin on defense.

  7. Just some thoughts since watching Mikko’s first game in AHL and Mac’s first game ever…
    1) they brought in speciality guys to fill in gaps on faceoffs and pk and pp. with Mikko – they still struggled without Mikko they struggled
    2) Makar played hurt and not crisp. Needed him to play to his identity and he was a non-factor. 13 was lost the whole time – looked like he had PTSD from previous playoffs partying vs prepping…
    3) 10 chatting about going to 13 straight playoff runs but can’t figure out to support MacKinnon on pp or miss assignments on PK is brutal- he never wanted to be here.
    4) Coach Beds is fine he got out coached once or twice with trying to play these role guys like 17, 18, 10, 11, and 55. That don’t get how stupid no brainer mistakes or penalties will cost you.
    Just my $0.10

  8. These annoying reporters asking what’s next? Really? They just lost game 7 of the Stanley cup playoffs. Their season is over.

  9. This is when its best to interview players everything still fresh. Like it or hate it. Like vultures or maggots the media comes in to feast on the raw emotions. Like a soap opera. Avs were a tough out, congrats to Dallas for pulling it off, congrats to Dallas management for getting the game breaker they were lacking.

  10. You NEVER trade a player of that caliber in their prime. It is extremely rare for that to ever be done in the NHL. It was an unnecessary gamble that blew up in management's face. That being said, the Avalanche blew it in the third. As MacKinnon said, they had the game in control throughout the vast majority of the game and then Mikko did Mikko things. Meanwhile the people who Colorado received in return didn't do much. Drury took as stupid a penalty as I have ever seen and Necas was mostly a no-show with one freakin' goal in the series. Do not re-sign Drouin or Nelson.
