  15. The video of Reinharts puck to the face is seriously so much worse when you see how stunned Stolarz is after. Definitely think he tried to tough that out and shouldn’t have even been in there when Bennet got him and the extra 9 minutes.

  17. I get that hockey is physical, and we all like that, but what other sport has shit like this? Where a player can just take out a pivotal member of the opposing team. Baseball use to be able to, with the slide into second, I guess. But that required a specific set of circumstances, and against a specific player. You cant just slide into their ace pitcher whenever you feel like it.

    This should straight be a multiple game suspension. It’s against the Leafs though, so it won’t and if anything he’ll get a pay bonus.

    This is two straight series now that the opponent has straight up tried to injure Stolarz game one. The League should be doing something about this immediately.

  22. Bennet hit him on purpose. They probably saw replay of him being hit initially by the puck and probably saw it dazed him. Knowing his history of concussions already, Bennet fucking purposely threw that elbow in on the way and finished the job. You can clearly see that little side elbow swipe , full intent !

  36. Bennett is a fucking dirtbag. He gave Stolarz a sneaky little punch on that play if you watch it closely. Just like he did that sneaky punch to Marchand last year.

    That said, we all know that DOPS isn’t gonna do shit about it. Maybe they give him a one game suspension, but Stolarz is likely done for the series, so its not proportional and never is.

    If that’s the way the league is gonna call stuff, I’d like to sign Bennett as a UFA this summer. Better to have the dirtbag on my team than as an opponent.

    Oilers aren’t saints. At all. No team is. But Florida is legit trying to injure. But not just injure, seriously injure. And they always do. It’s awful to watch.

    Bennett should be suspended for this. Its clear intent to injure and the player is now in the hospital. I’m not a Leafs fan. I have no skin in this but the lack of interest from the league suggests that their head office does.

    Edit: and it’s not just DOPS, the NHLPA never defends victims of this shit, only the suspended player. There’s never been a “NHLPA thinks the punishment was inadequate”. Neither the league or the player’s union are actually fighting for player safety.

  42. Honestly there is no penalty for a single player that can be levied that is a high enough penalty for taking out a star goaltender in the playoffs.

    They need to bring back enforcers and so someone could have knocked all of Bennett’s teeth out.

  43. Its worse than it looks. He not only hits with impact but the continues to shove/bend stolies neck with the force of his body skating by and his stick as leverage. Could have cracked a few bones and stretched a few liagaments

    He did something similar to Knies 2 years ago, hidden punch to the head during a “collision.” At least he didn’t also smash Stolarz’s head into the ice afterwards like he did to Knies.

  45. What an awful look for the nhl.  My team didn’t make playoffs so I have no vested interest in either team winning/losing, but garbage like this makes me not even want to watch.

  46. What I’m hoping is that this is an ear injury, and as the ear swelled up it messed up his sense of balance and made him dizzy, causing the puking and hospitalization. Once the swelling/bruising is taken care of, he’ll be fine, 

    That’s the hope. 

  47. The fact that lobotomites on Twitter are arguing that the hit was “soft” and that the concussion was because of a shot stolarz took in the first is pathetic. Not one goalie since they started to wear the modern masks has been concussed from a shot, but all of a sudden stolarz was?
