Concussion status is still unknown
Sam Bennetts response – “Stollie is a good friend of mine," Bennett said, per Sportsnet. "I reached out to him. He responded. "Obviously, never want to see an injury like that. From my point of view, I'm just taking the puck to the net. I didn't even know we made contact until after. I'm on the power play, I'm trying to score. I'm taking the puck to the net. That's really all there was to it." Per Outkick

Well you shouldn’t elbow any goalie like that. Let alone a friend.
Bennett is a dirt bag. I expect some ruthless chanting tonight.
Excerpt of their text exchange
“sorry bud, didn’t mean it”
“Fuck right off Sam”
Play it safe, Woll is capable especially not coming in cold after not playing for a few weeks…. No need to rush stolarz back but I hope he’s ready to roll for game 3.
More importantly, just win and shut these fuckers up. They become relevant for literally the first time ever and now are suddenly one of the worst fan bases in the sport.
Fuck Sam Bennett.
“Hey man I feel terrible about what happened, but you gotta be more careful of where you put your head. You could’ve hurt my elbow.” -Sam Bennett probably
I mean, shame on Stolarz for putting his head right where Bennett can elbow it!
/s
Yes, Bennett sucks and that shot probably added to the previous shot. The puck to the head didn’t help Stolarz at all.
Assuming its concussion and not some other illness or issue, protocol is 1 week no matter what, so he wont play for at least 7 days if that is the case.
Footage verifies exactly what he says. I genuinely don’t think it was malicious.
Still not a clean play. Still believe he should’ve gotten 1 game for recklessness. But I fully get if the league, and the refs on ice, viewed that as a follow through.
The second point update was so weird. Like are fans really interested if he ate breakfast with a smile.
I can’t imagine you go from head shot –> puking in buck –> hospital –> playing G2
Woll played great – just need to up the D in front of him a bit and Leafs are solid
Would love a doctors POV on this. Puking after getting hit in the head sounds serious, but what do I know
Let’s focus on the real menace, Connor Brown. 2 min penalty for being thrown into the goalie isn’t enough.
I might buy the accident angle even with Bennett’s proven fuckery. But the replay shows him making clear contact with Stollie’s head which could have been averted with time and trajectory Bennett had, and his right arm follows through like a hit and not accidental contact.
Fuck him and the league. Let’s get this win and simply force our own narrative.
lol if he plays tonight r/hockey wins the award for most dramatic subreddit of all time.
People wanted the lynch Bennett for a small bump and Stolarz may not even miss a game lol.

We are all hating on Sam Bennet right now, but loved him in the final 4 tourney and his fight with a tkachuk brother
I’m always confused how some players can just head hunt like it’s a video game and the league protects them over the game’s stars.
Bennet, Wilson, Pietrangelo, I’m sure I’m forgetting a few
Chief needs to put a bounty on Sam Bennett’s bald fuckin’ head. Enough is enough!
He’s not starting game 2. So, Sam Bennett did his damage. We’re confident with our second goalie, Woll however that doesn’t make the situation less upsetting or horrible. Fuck Sam Bennett and Fuck Paul Maurice.
If he didn’t mean for it to happen why did he follow through with his punch/elbow/forearm to the back of the head? Rat thing to say when there’s video evidence.
ooo Sam knows the sharks are circling him. He’s going to pay for it.
Hey Jets fans do you mind giving us some chirping suggestions?
You guys seem to be the GOATS at it (“US Backup”, “Crosbys Better”, “Silver Medal”) etc
We need something better than “Benett sucks”
I know we’re rivals but….. it’s for a good cause wouldn’t u say?
One time only? Not exclusive to Jets fans all suggestions are welcome
No excuse!!! 👎
Good on Bennett for texted him an apology… did he do that the last 12 times this happened?
There should be a rule in the NHL that you have to bench your starting goaltender in the playoffs if you injure the other team’s Tendy. Then if you injure another player you have to sit out the amount of games that the injury takes to recover… if it’s deemed an accident then it will be the usual suspension and warning if not then the fine occurs and the suspension matches the injury.
