Suspension Incoming? Edmonton Oilers win game 2 vs Golden Knights | Oilers Update

I’m gonna ask you, do you think Nicholas Wah deserves to be suspended? Uh, yeah, I do. I think he deserves one game and I think it should be nothing more, nothing less. I think even if there was was a regular season game, he should probably get one. I mean, he crushed the guy in the head. Do we have the clip? It was um I don’t think it was an intent to injure. I think it was I think he was trying to hit him in the chest and he’s he just got caught in the moment. It was a bit of a bang bang play, but yeah, I think one game is fine. Um, and I think the fiveminute major was fully warranted for what he did. And unfortunately, the others obviously couldn’t uh capitalize on it, but the refs made the right call. You know, he shouldn’t have got one. Arbitson. Yeah, Arvit definitely like Okay, well, let’s watch this. Like, it’s a bad play. I’m going to say he doesn’t get suspended. He gets the max fine. It to me, it’s not like a reactionary thing. It’s not like they were battling and then Wah in like a fit of rage hit him in the face. There is a case to be made that he’s like, I saw the puck float up in the air and I wanted to knock it down. I just did it in the dumbest possible way. Like the puck is up there somewhere. Right. I’ve never seen anyone knock down a puck like that. Yeah. No, again, very, very stupid. It happens so fast. It’s that much time. I just think the way the rest reviewed it so quickly too that it’s just so obvious that it’s obviously a cross check to the head. And I I think too like I think it just has to be one game. I I I I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not. And also wouldn’t be that upset if he doesn’t suspended for the game. He always had an opportunity in overtime to win the game and they couldn’t do it. But I don’t know. I I just think like that’s not a hockey play. Yeah. You also do see those like the puck’s up and you do see Frederick’s hands start to go up then as someone points out in uh in the chat here Reichno um they’re like look you can see Frederick almost go up to do it too. So that’s maybe a part of uh of W’s defense here is that like I saw his hands go up so I put my hands up too and the puck was up there like I don’t know it to me was this malicious no it’s just very very stupid and he did get a fiveminute major for it which I think will go into the calculation like we know the NHL has a weird little scale of like what’s a playoff suspension worth to a regular season suspension but also like what’s a fiveminute major and overtime worth in that whole calculation. Totally. Uh, rules analyst is in. Yeah, my cousin Josh. Cousin Josh. I don’t think he misses a game. Max fine. NHL will view him missing the last bit of the game as his punishment. Can’t deny the major call simply on severity of on the impact of the check. Yeah, there you go. Um, decisions in. There you go. No suspension from our uh what do they say at election time? Oilers Nation every day is projecting no suspension for also. Sorry. Was he giving a misconduct or no? He was kicked out. Yeah. Oh, really? Cuz I thought five five and a misconduct. I thought that was a m I thought that was a oneame suspension. Or is that a match? I thought it was an automatic oneame suspension. No clue what you’re talking about, Josh. Yeah, I we’ll get an answer to it right away. Um there you go. That’s your short for Giant question. I’m going to say no. doesn’t get suspended. Liam’s going to say one game. I’m gonna say no. And you’re like Reese, what are you gonna say? I be one. Okay, Reese is one game. You said two. Reys, they’re not going to give him the rest of the playoffs. Rest of the Ree. Jesus. Reese jail. Whoa. Assault. Assault. Let’s talk about Yes. Let’s talk about that mis call a little bit. Um I understand why Golden Knights fans are angry about this. I would too. And I there was one thing and I’m sure everyone saw the clips yesterday, the clippings I should say of Stone and Bruce Cassidy. Yeah, I think those comments were taken out of context a little bit. They read harsher than they sound is kind of what you told me. That’s a good way to put it. So I watched them and both of them are just like, “Yeah, it was a mis call.” And I think in the moment Stone, you could see on the ice, was more frustrated with the officials and rightfully so. It’s a clear mis call. Uh but yeah, both of them were just like, “Yeah, it’s a mis call. Like that has to be called in the game, but like it is what it is. We have to move on from this. Like we’ll be fine.” And they were more worried about like McNab not being available, which I think someone just put in MD put in the chat there too, which I agree with. They called the play dirty. I don’t think they’re calling a dirty player by any means. It’s an it’s a I don’t think Arington tried to do that. The puck is clearly right in front of Brady McNab and his sick just got caught up in him. It’s an unfortunate play. I mean, the fact we even needed clarification on whether or not he was getting a hearing today was like, you don’t you don’t get suspended. You get suspended for slooh foots. You don’t get suspended for tripping a guy with your stick, especially when your stick is in front of the guy. Yeah. Again, it was an egregious missed call. But I would also add that if there’s any fan base that probably shouldn’t be crying about treatment in officials, it’s the one who set an NHL record for being the least penalized team this year. Yeah, which is remarkable. I I like agreed 100% a penalty. Yeah, the official probably should have seen it. You can see him in the shot there. Yeah, maybe the net got in the way, which I mean you could kind of see it where the official comes into the picture. Um I don’t know. I would also just like to point out, I said off the top of the show, it’s a sports analyst that reminded me. They were talking about how fortunate the Oilers were to win this game. The Oilers hit the crossbar and post twice in overtime. Yeah. Um before this happened. Hey, welcome back to the series, Alex Petrangelo. I know he tied a game he tied the game with that floater from the blue line. Um god damn, he did his best to get out of there. Oh yeah, he had plans. Tickets to a show or something. Um the giveaway to Zack Heyman at the end of the fiveminute major was just absolutely horrendous. And then Heyman mouthguard out of Vander Kane’s like hell yeah game over and it’s like Vegas is going back the other way. I was though in fairness because again didn’t have a great view of it on the broadcast or you never quite know on those ones on the broadcast. Um I was waiting for that buzzer to go. Oh I was like I bet this one’s in. It wasn’t in. No I can see why Kane thought it might have gone in from where he was. But yeah I can again understand why fans would be upset in Vegas. Um, I don’t think the refs were that bad yesterday. Like the Buchard one probably. You want to see that go the other way? The ref that called. I can see why he called it on Bousard. I don’t know. I’m trying to get a better understanding of the officials without sitting here every day being like, “This guy sucks. This guy sucks cuz they all suck. They’re all bad at their jobs.” But like trying to get a better vantage point on things. I don’t know. Bad missed call. They missed it. It’s a missed call. And like that’s the other thing too is like missed calls happen everywhere. And I saw someone on Twitter, I forget who it was, was like that was a perfect opportunity for them to make up for the five-minute major. And it’s like, what do you mean? What are you talking about? He crossed the guy in the head. They reviewed it. I saw that, too. And I’m just like, what do you mean make up? Like the refs didn’t find a call to even things out. Nicholas Walk, Ros, Trent Frederick in the teeth for Christ sake. He was bleeding on the ice. He was bleeding blood. They made him bleed his own blood. Bleeding his own blood. my voice. Why is my voice? Yeah, I just uh Yeah, I couldn’t believe some of the narratives around it. It’s like, okay, bad missed call obviously at a bad time. But like, yeah, it’s not like Arvdson tripped him, pulled the puck out, and while all the Golden Knights players were like, “Our guys hurt, Arvdson went and scored.” That would be different. Totally. And also too, the Otis had the puck in that moment and the refs blew it dead. Correct. Which I I mean, granted, McNab was hurt. Yeah. I don’t you obviously don’t want to see players. I’m pretty sure like if he had passed the puck across and scored that would have sucked. Yeah. Like I don’t know. I just felt like it they shouldn’t have done that too. But McNab immediately got up as well and played like that’ll be a huge loss for them if he can’t go. Oh yeah. Like huge huge loss. Like betrayel is one thing but he’s just like a different kind of player for them. So yeah like that would be crazy if he’s out. W out like is that again another the Dorf. Do we actually know what is wrong with him? Uh no, he’s traveling. Okay, come on guys. Talk about hurdle. He’s going to try this on Dorf. He’s What’s up, nation citizens? Last night’s Game 2 between the Edmonton Oilers and Vegas Golden Knights ended with controversy as Nicolas Roy was ejected in overtime for a high cross-check to Trent Frederic’s face. The play earned Roy a five-minute major and a game misconduct, the NHL’s Department of Player Safety has scheduled a hearing that could lead to a suspension. Then later on, Viktor Arvidsson got caught up with Brayden Mcnabb causing him to leave the game.

Today, Tyler and Liam broke down the heated moments from Game 2, debated whether Roy deserves a suspension, and reacted to Bruce Cassidy’s post-game comments. They also looked ahead to Game 3 in Edmonton and what the Golden Knights need to do to get back in the series.

Do you think Roy deserves a suspension?

  1. I've been an Oilers fan for a very long time and there are countless times they got screwed by a bad call so that's justt the way it goes.

  2. To me, it's the full extension of the arms that tells me he wasn't attempting to play the puck. I'd like to see a 2-game suspension for it.

  3. NHL is such a joke. They basically admitted what Roy did was dirty and gave him the maximum fine but, then says it's not suspension worthy. Like huh? So why even fine someone if he's not guilty lol? Oh yeah because he clearly went for the puck.

  4. roy should be suspended more than 1 game also arvidsson 1 game because putting your stick around or inside a guys legs while skating that fast towards the boards is extremely dangerous i thought that was the type of play the nhl was trying to stop with the newer icing rules
