The Blue Jays Have A SERIOUS Problem… Blue Jays Fans DEMAND CHANGE…

Blue Jay fans have had enough. No more waiting around. They want change and they want it now. So far, this 2025 Blue Jays season has not gone according to general manager Ross Atkins plans. As of recording this video, the Blue Jays are 17 and 20, just coming off a brutal series loss to LA. Not the LA Dodgers, the LA Angels. And according to a large majority of Blue Jay fans, a series loss to the Angels in May is enough to trigger a full-blown panic. And it’s not just the results that are concerning, it’s how they’re performing as well. The Blue Jays sit in the bottom third in all of baseball when it comes to producing runs and allowing runs. And a lot of Blue Jay fan critics out there are not surprised because they’ve seen this song and dance before. Literally last season, the Blue Jays were in the exact same position as they were this year, sitting 17- 20 after May 8th. And that team also ranked in the bottom third in all of baseball when it comes to runs scored and runs allowed. This brutal start is even after they made a bunch of changes this off season after they brought in guys like Santandere, Hoffman, Jimenez, Sherzer, Garcia, etc. They brought in a new hitting coach. They’ve had the best facilities over the last few years and this is even after they decided to finally listen to their players according to Chris Basset. And still after all these changes, the Blue Jays are sitting in the exact same spot and playoff hopes are starting to dwindle. So what now? Well, according to you, the fans, there’s only one clear answer. Fire general manager Ross Atkins. What’s up everybody and welcome back to Blue Jays today. In a recent poll I did on our social media, I discovered that a large majority of you think the next move the Blue Jays should do is fire Ross Atkins. But is it really his fault that the team is performing this bad? Or is this just some sort of scapegoat punishment? Before we get into it though, I encourage you guys to hit that like button and subscribe to Blue Jays today if you enjoy Blue Jays news and content. It’s going to be a long season, so we appreciate if you subscribe. So yes, I did recently run a poll on X and on Instagram, and here are the results. The question I proposed was very simple. If the season goes off the rails and the playoffs are out of reach, what’s the one move that has to happen? Trade for Impact players, sell at the deadline, fire John Schneider, fire Ross Atkins. And as you could see here on X, the first three answers are pretty split, but there is a large part of you that wants Ross Atkins fired. 38.3%. And then on our Instagram, it was even more surprising. 36% say fire John Schneider and 33% say fire Ross Atkins, leaving the other third of you saying trade or sell at the deadline. And while I don’t blame the manager or the general manager for how the players are performing on the field, I completely understand where everyone’s coming from. Ross Atkins is the leading cause of this roster configuration ever since the 2022 offseason. That off season, he implemented the strategy of run prevention, and ever since then, this team has not looked the same. Ross decided to sacrifice offense for pitching and defense, and the results are quite literally shocking. Ever since that 2022 season, the Blue Jays offensive numbers have dropped a lot. In 2022, they were the fourth best team in runs scored. But over the past three seasons, from 2023 to 2025, they rank 19th in runs scored. Well, okay, he sacrificed the offense, but the pitching must have gotten a lot better, right? Well, sadly not. They were ranked 13th in runs allowed in 2022, but over the past three seasons, they’ve dropped down slightly to 17th in runs allowed. But hey, at least they’ve got backto-back team gold gloves. But seriously, the idea of run prevention that Ross Atkins implemented, that strategy or whatever you call it, it’s failing miserably. And there are so many other problems that have gone on with his front office, including the lack of player development that I’m not really going to get into in this video because that is a major problem why this major league roster is getting no support. And after 10 years of running this team, it might be finally time for this front office to go. Hey guys, time for a quick shout out to the sponsor of this video. Hit your picks and knock it out of the park with Bway. Scan the QR code down below or click the link in the description to join the action. Available in Ontario only. Must be 19 years older to participate. And guys, please bet responsibly. Now, back to the content. But if you fire Ross Atkins and get rid of this front office, will anything really change? This season, absolutely not. Next season, probably not. Because the reality is this is the roster that they’ve built. And the players on the field, they do need to perform. Firing Ross Atkins or firing John Schneider, that’s not going to change that. They’re not the ones throwing the baseball or hitting the baseball. Everybody knows this. But fans want to see a change in the direction of this franchise. It’s time to plant the seed of the future. They can’t keep trying to water this wiltering plant and hope it grows back to life. So, I agree. If the Blue Jays do miss playoffs this season, I think there’s one move that we all want to see happen first. But you guys, let me know your thoughts in the comments down below. Thank you so much for watching and as always guys, go Jay’s

  1. How is it on Atkins anymore? Didn’t he do what the fans wanted? Signed a power bat (shoulda traded for Naylor over Gimenez), resigned Vlad, fixed up the Bullpen, and got a new Hitting Coach. I mean at this point you gotta just blame the players

  2. All big players do not want to come to the Blue Jays because of the dicking around they did with their is they would have signed Vlad in the 2023 season to the q0 year contract, they would have gotten more serious looks from the off season hitters available in 2024 maybe we would have got more than Santander. They didn't think Toronto was serious about a title. So Shatkins has got to go

  3. It's not just about Ross – it's about Shapiro! 20+ year losing heater, his way of running a ball club is riddled with infection and it keeps growing. The new Prez will see Atkins body of work, lack of development, no existing talent evaluation, and non-awareness to how people should be treated with his calculating cold, always blaming never accountable PR personality and replace him along with Schneider. Jays need a culture change from Prez to bottom – the new owner wants to win, it starts there captain!

  4. Shatkins has taken the fun out of baseball.
Shatkins took this organization from class to last and nobody's smiling anymore!
Our beloved Blue Jays always have had this city by the heart since 1977 and Shatkins has managed to rip it out inch by inch!

  5. A few things:

    1) Why are we waiting to see how they do this year? Even if they do well, Atkins has proven that he is incompetent. He needs to go regardless.

    2) John Schneider’s inability to make good in-game decisions and his inability to put together a proper lineup is absolutely a problem and has 100% cost the Jays not only games, but morale. He has proven that he is not a big league coach. He also needs to go regardless. Saying that firing him won’t change anything is incredibly short-sighted.

The bottom line is no matter how good the players are, if they have poir management, they will never do well. The roster they have now should be better than the roster they had in 2015.

  6. Example of Atkin's evaluation ability:
At trade deadline last year the Dodgers go and get Tommy Edman (plays 3 different positions, a Ross Atkin special) gave up pretty much nothing to get him – the man as a utility player had key hits last fall to help the Dodgers win the WS and played great defense. This year, he's even better (.818 OPS) (130 OPS+) – a few months after the Edman deal, Atkins traded for Gimenez – a one position player who is slightly better than Edman in the field (maybe), and can't hit over the Mendoza line … Atkins gave up a young prospect left hitting power bat to get Giminez the expensive worst hitting version of Edman and Kinar-F I might add!

  7. if we don't fire atkins he's going to keep going after more gimenezs. his contract was 106 million. that was not supposed to happen. he was the only one dumb tough to take that on

  8. I see the problems happening on the field. So, i'd say any staff having a daily impact on the players should be looked at for a potential reason for poor player performance. Whether its clubhouse managers, trainers, strategists…they all need to be looked at. For too long i've seen batters swing at garbage and then watch strike 3 go by them. They players are not tuned right. and wont be until changes happen.

  9. Same narrative. 2nd, 3rd year in a row? It’s been “finally” time to fire Atkins for several years in a row now and nothing was done those times, so why would it be done now. I hope it happens, but this ownership group seems so reluctant when there is so much evidence to do it. So bizarre… ownership, front office, lack of offensive production. Everything is so bizarre, so puzzling about this organization since Anthopoulos was nudged out of town.
