Always knew Fisher was a shit owner and just a piece of shit in general. But today I learned Fisher had a stake in the Giants and helped keep them in SF. Then of course he buys the A’s and eventually boots em out of Oakland not giving two fucks about keeping them in the Bay Area. Fuck you John Fisher. Fuck you.

  8. Yeah 2 or 3 times the A’s had a chance to be bought by local groups the past two decades that would’ve kept the A’s in Oakland long term and likely built a new baseball only ballpark be it at Howard Terminal or the current coliseum location by now.

    Back [in 1999 a group led by Dolich](https://www.cbsnews.com/news/investors-out-of-as-deal/) who was the main PR man for the A’s franchise under the Haas family had their attempt to buy the A’s “tabled” by MLB.

    Then in 2005 Selig chose the group that Fisher was a part of because the potential “face” of the ownership was fraternity brothers with the commissioner even though Lacob had the higher offer to buy the A’s.

    Not to mention Reggie led ownership group who was rumored to have freaking Gates, yes the Microsoft guy, as his money man to buy the A’s was also rejected or ignored by MLB.

    Look at what Balmer did with the downtrodden Clippers over the last decade since he bought that franchise and now imagine what A’s franchise backed financially by a Gates led ownership group could’ve done the last 20+ years. Let alone the Lacob led ownership group too.

    Infuriating to say the least.

    So yeah there is a lot of bitterness and anger from most A’s fans here in Oakland who’ve known this for many years and who believe we got screwed over by MLB as a whole for the last 25+ years when it deals with being saddled with multiple terrible cheap ownership groups.

    I’ll say it again baseball & MLB in Oakland didn’t die. It was systematically murdered by those in power over the last 30 years.

  9. The main reason why I’ll never root for the Giants. Including turning down San Jose because of territorial rights the Haas family gave to them to prevent them from moving.

    I miss my Oakland A’s. I hope through some miracle they come back to Oakland. For now, I’m a Dodgers fan as a big middle finger to the Giants fans that are trying to recruit me to become a fan
