Utah Hockey Club leaked its team name

We have all decided it should be clubs. I don’t know. Only you have decided that. I think I think I speak for us all when it should be clubbers. Another fun moment that happened last night. And shout out to Jazzy Pinkman, who if you don’t follow on Twitter, I do. It’s a Clubber fan. Uh finds that Utah changed its YouTube handle to Utah Mammoth briefly last night. I saw it on Twitter. I went to Utah’s uh YouTube page. It was for real. That screen grab is from me. I promise you this is not a Photoshop. That’s real. It’s since been changed. It’s been taken down. I think someone realized, damn, didn’t know that people were going to just be refreshing our YouTube page looking for everything. You underestimate Clubbers because the Clubbers that we know are all about that team and they want to know what their team name is going to be. It would appear Peter and Sean, Utah’s name will be the Utah Mammoth. What say you? Fine. Whatever. I mean, not the best, not the worst. I’ve I have been operating on under this assumption for months at this point. It’s fine. It’s unoffensive. It should be. We’ve all decided it should be Clubbers. I don’t know. Only you have decided that. I think I think I speak for us all when it should be Clubbers. Clubbers is not a good name. I think them being referred to as clubbers is fun and them being the hockey club is fine, but clubbers in and of itself is the actual name is not a good I agree with that. Clubbers should not be their official name, but we all love clubbers. I think that I speak for us all when I say we all love it as a clubber. Clubbers would be a good name, especially if the if the branding is good with a Yeti with a club, it’s a good name. names. There are plenty of names that suck across sports and nobody pays attention to how much they suck if the branding is good. That’s all I’m saying. The name doesn’t really matter. So, if the Mammoth comes with great branding, then by all means, be the Utah Mammoth. I mean, first off, you can’t say that the name doesn’t really matter when we had a full show basically dedicated to whether or not naming Wasatch naming them Wasach would matter. Well, that’s because nobody knows what that means. Fair. We know what mammoth means. I think uh yeah, but I mean you’re you’re more debating clubbers and for different but similar reasons. Like you get a few years away from them being called the UD hockey club and people are going to be like why are they named after like a bunch of like Eastern Europeans doing poppers and going to clubs in Eastern Europe at 4 in the morning. Like I I just feel like it would get it would end up getting associated with uh clubbing more than like the Utah hockey club origins as clubbers trunks down. What’s that? Tus up trunks down. Okay. Uh as clubbers till we die notes in the chat. Uh clubbers will be the name of the fans always. Yeah. Yeah. So, like I think I said there like Jazzy Pinkman who is a clubber that when I think of clubber I think of the fans which I believe was Sean brought up or Pete brought up somebody who is not me brought up on this show that no matter what they go with the fans should be known as clubbers. Yes. I don’t remember who brought that up. I mean I think they should credit where it’s due. They should be the like do they they get to be one of those teams that gets to be the Utah Mammoth Hockey Club. I would say because their origin were as a hockey club and thus they can still keep call I mean I think they can call their fan base the clubers regardless but if you kind of keep referring to yourself as the mammoth hockey club then you then you still it’s still there makes [Music] sense like the mayor

  1. I'm right there with you, Pete. Clubbers would be *perfect* — it has organically evolved from the placeholder Hockey Club. It's retro, like teams being called "Red Stockings" because of the color of their sock and that evolving into the Red Sox, etc. It's too bad UHC is going with one of the vanilla, AI researched, "cold," "'hockey'" names "the fans voted" on. But Mammoth is the best of what was left.
