Jarmo would be a good fit I think for them. Similar conditions when he became our GM. Islanders were already known for being hardasses in the trade market. If he can get some job protections and doesn’t repeat his panic mode, he’d do good. Also if he doesn’t make idiotic coaching decisions.
Good for him. He set a good foundation a playoff appearance and relatively sustained success.
I hope he tries to hire Babcock again
He’ll be good if they hire him. Guy knows how to fleece other GMs in trades, and he’s insane with drafting. His biggest problem is bad signings and contracts, and can struggle in addressing team needs. Neither of which the Islanders will probably care about for a few years while they rebuild
