RIGHT NOW! COWBOYS MAKE CALL ON $53M DT FROM LIONS! A POST-DRAFT MASTERSTROKE?

Do you really think this team is ready to go toe-to-toe with San Francisco and Philadelphia? Well, get ready to hold your breath because what’s gone down in Dallas over the past few days is about to change everything we thought we knew about this season. A seismic arrival that’s shaken up the locker room, a saga that ended before it even began. And a potential trade that could complete the defensive puzzle. But is it enough to finally take that next step? or is the front office still pushing their luck? Sound off below. Does this front office deserve credit or criticism? Hit that subscribe button now and let’s go, Cowboys Nation. When the phone rang in Dallas this week, nobody saw this coming. An explosive name, full of swagger, and with plenty of gas left in the tank, landed straight from the Steel City. George Pickkins is now a cowboy. And if you thought he came here to be a supporting player, it’s time to rethink things because the guy arrived with sky-high confidence and has already made it clear he didn’t come here to be in anyone’s shadow. The trade with the Steelers wasn’t just an aggressive move. It was a statement, a clear message from the front office. The time to win is now. Pickings is one of the league’s most dangerous wide receivers when it comes to vertical route explosion. The dude finished 2024 with nearly a thousand yards, even having to survive in a limited and predictable offense in Pittsburgh. Now, imagine the damage he can do with CD Lamb on the other side and Dak Prescott getting more protection this year. But wait, there’s more. At his official introduction, Pickkins dropped a line that set the locker room on fire. You guys talk about 1A and 1B, but I see two big-time guys sharing the field. That’s how you win nowadays. And he’s right. The NFL’s offensive powerhouses, the Bengals, Eagles, Vikings, they all have two differencemaking receivers. This is the new NFL and the Cowboys are finally playing the game. And here’s where the strategy comes in. Brian Shottenheimimer, the new head coach, now has a duo that forces defenses to abandon their base plan. You can’t double team both guys. Either you open up the middle for the tight end and the run game, or you watch one of them torch your secondary play after play. That’s a real tactical advantage. That’s freedom for Dak to attack the entire field. But of course, there’s a catch. Pickings is pure talent, but he’s got a strong personality. He doesn’t like being sidelined or ignored. The question is, will that ego be fuel or a ticking time bomb? Because if Lamb and Pickins can share the spotlight, this offense is unstoppable. Now, if internal battles for targets and headlines start, the locker room could turn into a minefield. So, Cowboys fan, I ask you, does this move excite you or worry you? Do you think the offense is finally complete? Or is there still a lack of chemistry and leadership to make it click? But hold on, cuz if you thought that was big, what did happen in the backfield is going to leave you even more intrigued. And yes, it involves a name that seemed like a sure thing to wear the star but was left out at the last minute. And the reason why, trust me, it says a lot about a new Cowboys philosophy. If there was one thing that seemed written in the stars, it was a bigname running back landing in the Cowboys backfield. And nobody fit the profile more than Nick Chub. A grizzled veteran, explosive, respected around the league and until recently available on the market. Anticipation was skyhigh among the fan base. There were videos circulating, mock-ups in the uniform, people swearing it was just a matter of time. But then came the splash of cold water. And this time, straight from the source, Chub was never actually in Dallas’s real plans. Never. The confirmation came via NFL Network, but anyone who really follows things already knew. The Cowboys front office bet on a different path. Instead of bringing in a veteran with a serious injury history, and let’s remember, Chub is coming off one of the worst injuries an RB can suffer, the team doubled down on youth and internal competition. Miles Sanders and Javvante Williams arrived as reinforcements. Two guys who have already proven they can carry a backfield, albeit in different contexts. Plus, there’s Jayden Blue and Phil Mafa, two raw prospects from the draft who really impressed in early practices. The result, the back field is stacked and more than that is competitive. And here’s the tactical red. Brian Shottenheimimer wants variability. He wants freshness and he wants versatility. He doesn’t need a big name. He needs guys with fresh legs and hunger with a run game that adapts to the weekly game plan that works by committee with multiple options for different situations. And Chub, as much of a beast as he was in his prime, simply doesn’t fit that model anymore. But the harsh reality is football waits for no one. Chub is still posting workout videos from the gym. And sure, it’s great to see the guy fighting to get back. But Dallas isn’t in the nostalgia business. They’re in the business of winning now and crowding an already deep backfield with an expensive guy with an injury history. Just for the name recognition, that’s not Shottenheimr. That’s not the 2025 version of the Cowboys. And there’s more. This decision shows the front office is thinking differently. They have the courage to say no when before they might have said yes just to please the fans and the headlines. Now the direct question is do you agree with this stance or do you think they lack the boldness to secure a name who could change the game if healthy? Sound off. Did the Cowboys do the right thing by passing on Chub or will they regret it when December rolls around? But hold that thought because the next piece of news involves a potential trade that could be the cherry on top for this defense. And if it happens, my friend, that’s when this defensive line will truly strike fear. Okay, take a deep breath because what I’m about to tell you could be the final push needed to turn this Cowboys defense into something truly dominant. The front office has already tweaked the offense, cleaned house in the back field, but there’s still an open wound right in the heart of the defensive trenches, and it goes by one name, nose tackle. Maisy Smith, who was supposed to be their guy, hasn’t panned out. And Jay Toya, as promising as he is, is still a project. That’s where a heavy hitter comes in. Literally and technically, DJ Rita, a veteran who knows what it’s like to play at a high level with a physical presence that changes the game in the middle of the lines. The guy is a benchmark for stopping the run. He had three straight seasons with elite run defense grades from PFF, and today he’s in Detroit with a hefty contract and a front office that might be looking to free up cap space. The question remains, why haven’t the Cowboys called yet? The answer, my friends, seems to come down to cap space. Dallas’s cap has already been stretched thin with Pickins’s arrival and strategic veteran renewals. But if Detroit is truly willing to deal or even cut Rita, the opportunity is real. And then there’s no ignoring it. Rita fits like a glove with the biggest need in Brian Shottenheimimer’s defensive system. Because it’s simple. Without a dominant nose tackle, the rest of the defense suffers. The linebackers have to cover more ground. The edges can’t just focus on rushing the passer. And the opponent’s run game opens up holes that kill the team’s rhythm. With Rita, that changes. He occupies two blockers. He anchors the middle. He forces offenses to think twice before running between the tackles. Plus, think about the rotation. With Reo anchoring the middle, Mazy Smith can be used in more specific situations, relieving the pressure and allowing him to develop more calmly. It’s a winwin and the cost maybe a mid-round draft pick. Nothing absurd for a team that’s already shown they’re not afraid to trade picks for immediate impact. The fan base is already getting restless. There’s noise on social media. People calling for the trade, others saying it’s not worth the risk because of his age and injury history. But the point here is simple. Reader is exactly what’s missing to cap off this roster. So, Cowboys Nation, is it worth the gamble? Would you be willing to send a third or fourth round pick to Detroit for that beast in the middle? Or is it better to hold on to the resources and bet on who’s already on the roster? Cuz look, if this move happens, the 2025 Cowboy season is going to have a new weight literally at the heart of the defense. If you still had doubts that the Cowboys are hungry in 2025, today made it clear. This team is breaking the mold and aiming for the top. Pickings arrived to ignite the offense. Chub was strategically bypassed with a bold decision, and DJ Rita could be the last domino to fall for this defense to become elite. Forget the apathy of the past. This front office is playing to win now. But what about it, Cowboys fan? Does this roster finally move past the legacy of the Prescott era, or is there still a lack of true leadership? 1. Man that would be an awesome pickup in a DT. I hope everything jells together with this team and stay injury free. Fukk it bring Coop back also jones go all in for real.

  2. Cowboys just got Trple A.With Turpin in the slot you gotta believe we will be explosive if our run game is solid.Having Booker allows Dak to step up into the pocket and fire darts!

  3. This guy is wrong about the Lions trading Reader. Alim McNeil is recovering from a torn ACL and probably won’t be back until November, the Lions are not trading Reader until McNeil proves he is healthy, which will be after the trade deadline.

  4. The real question is, can Dak Prescott make the right decisions at QB! The Cowboys have had good teams in the past, it's Prescott that will ultimately decide wether the Cowboys fan's have something to celebrate at the end. That's if football is even really legitimate anymore, which I'm not so sure about!

  5. I think it was an awesome pick up. He’s a young receiver with a lot of talent. He was unhappy in Pittsburgh. Why not the chance on him We know what he can bring

  6. Don't think this is worth the move. We will need early draft picks next year. If this guy was younger and a stud, I'd say sure..

  7. DJ Reader is a journeyman, played for Houston, Bengals, Browns and now Lions. Not worth a third round draft pick. No different from Hankins.
