Veteran presence is helpful for some of our guys that’ll likely be starters for us in the majors in the next year or two, if not by the end of this year. I dunno, expected numbers weren’t great last year but maybe he’s a pinch long reliever if our bullpen needs it?
I’m all for having aging players willing to serve as mentors and depth pieces in Omaha and Springdale. Could be a big deal to both teams down the line if we have to raid their pitching staffs at any point

Rich Hill is 45 years old. Satchell Paige pitched 3 scoreless innings for our KC Athletics in 1965 and threw 3 scoreless innings. He was 59 years old.
