Mikael Granlund REACTS to hat trick for Stars + Mark Messier’s Game 4 analysis | SportsCenter

Feel that cold? Sure do. Sure do. Yeah. Playoff hockey time. That’s why. Pivotal game four between the Jets and the Stars. Let’s get to it. Middle of the first, no score. Stars on the power play. Look at Mael Granland on the rush. Gets the score. Looking great. And that Finn not nearly finished. Second period tied up at one. Granland gets the puck and beats Connor Helibbook. Beats him on the glove side. Get that second goal of the game. Stars up 2-1. And you think he’s done? I don’t think so. One time, the Hattie completed. Coming up big in the playoffs when it matters most. Just smoke that one. That’s right. Jump. Let those hats fly on the ring. Stars win game four up. They’re up 3-1 in the series. One win away from moving on. And we are moving on to the man himself. Stanley Cup champion Mark Messier on the show. Granland with the hat-tick. Just a phenomenal night. What impressed you most about him? Everything. His complete game. Uh he took finished his checks, he blocked shots, he scored three goals. His complete 200 foot game was just amazing tonight. Winnipeg planned and game planned around a finish player, but they got the wrong finish player tonight. Indeed. You got to get the right one. You got to get the right one. As a team though, the Stars just looked in control. They’ve looked great all series. What stood out to you most about them as a team tonight? Uh their overall team play. They’re never out of position. They make you play 200 feet to get any chance. They’re very they’re and they play the team defensive game as consistent as anybody in the league. Uh they never get give oddman rushes. Uh you got to manufacture your own chances against Dallas, but the consistency that they play with in their structure is as good as there is in the league. They have looked phenomenal. Okay, so now the top seed, the Jets, their season’s on the line, game five. What do you expect from them to keep their season alive? Well, they got to play with the lead. Uh trying to trying to play against Dallas with the lead. Like I say, their defensive play is as good as there is in the league. And they make it so hard to generate chances. And when they do, their goalender has just been unbelievable throughout the whole playoffs. And again, tonight, he made some big saves when he had to. And uh you know, Oder is a great big goalie. He covers the net well. He sees pucks from everywhere. He battles. And uh but you know, Dallas is a complete team. Uh they get timely goals. And of course, you know, Ren is just playing the kind of game right now that can carry a team to the Stanley Cup finals. Wow. Uh and and you know they’re getting Heiskin comes back tonight. Uh they’re getting healthy. Uh Dallas looks good right now. They are looking good. Got a pick for game five. Uh it’s Oh, that’s a good qu that’s a good question. I don’t know. I don’t know. That’s uh Let me think. I’m going to go with I think we’re going to come back to Dallas for game six. All right. There you have it from Mess Game Five. By the way, Thursday night. Appreciate your time. You look good in the studio. Your first time here. Yeah. Thank you so much. It is my first time in this studio. Yeah, you look good. You make the studio look good. Good to see you, my friend. Pat hattick third by the Stars this postseason. The other two by Miko Rantin. That ties the most hat-ticks by the Stars in a single postseason joining the 2020 bubble playoffs when they also had three. Miguel, I got to wonder, did you wake up this morning and sense the attention to get a hat-tick in game four tonight? Yeah, I mean it’s obviously cool to score some goals, but uh yeah, I mean it was a huge win for us and um yeah uh good job male along with yourself, Miko Raten and Robe. Hence, that line has been so pivotal. You came over from San Jose, Jim Nil brings you in to contribute this time of year. What does it mean to do just that? Ah, it’s been good since we’ve been together. It’s been uh we’ve been feeling good and obviously Miko is playing in exceptional level right now. So, uh, it’s it’s fun to be out there with him, but, um, yeah, it’s been going good and, you know, let’s just keep going. 3-1 series lead. You just mentioned keep going. What do you guys have to do as you head back to Winnipeg for game five to end this series? Just go game by game and uh, let’s uh, this is now done and let’s just get ready for the next one. That’s all we can do. Appreciate your time. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. [Music] [Music]

  1. That was a NIFTY keep in by MIRO at the blue line and then the feed to GRANNY to get the primary assist. BING BONG!!!

This was a STATEMENT win: Miro is back and already contributing and the rest of the teams that are still alive are looking at us and wondering "how are we going to beat them"???

  2. Just love Granlund interviews. He's like kryptonite for the hype. I remember when he scored the lacrosse goal in the skoda cup and summed it up just saying "it only counts as one goal." 😀

  3. Out of all the players in the NHL, I don't think there's anyone that deserves a Cup like Mikke Granlund does. Regardless of if he gets it or not, he's already a legend in Finland.
