The NHL is TERRIFIED of this…
The NHL is terrified of this as we get a massive update surrounding Hkin and heading into game four versus the Winnipeg Jets which changes everything for the Dallas Stars heading into the remaining games. We’re going to break down this line changes and everything you need to know later on this episode. Before we get into that, if you’re a part of the 88.6% that’s enjoying this video and haven’t subscribed yet, make sure to go down and hit that subscribe button. It’s completely free. It helps us out a bunch. And in return, we’ll give you updates from not only your Dallas Stars, but the rest of the National Hockey League. Well, that we got up straight into the first topic today, Darius, where we did get a couple updates leading into the practice today. Hkin is a possibility for game four tonight. It continues on with saying depending on how the morning skate goes. Hkinan will return and it leads right to the Dallas Stars tweeting about it themselves. and it seems dead certain that Hkinan will return to the Dallas Stars lineup heading into the game. And just overall, what is your thoughts about getting their best defenseman, one of the best defenseman in the NHL back into the series? Yeah, well, getting Mero Hkin back into the lineup is obviously going to lengthen the lineup. Like, this changes everything for the Dallas Stars in this series. Not just the Dallas Stars. This changes everything for the Winnipeg Jets as well because getting one of the best defenseman in the league back halfway through a series will change things. Now, I do have to say, and I’ve seen a lot of comments about it, and you know, personally, because I’ve watched this player play live before, I would not take Thomas Harley off the first power play unit as the power play quarterback. That is what he was born to do. He’s a great player, a great 2-way defenseman, and he should stay there. Mero Hushkin, I mean, he’s a great player in his own right, and of course could quarterback a power play as well. But coming back from injury, don’t fix what isn’t broken at this point. Leave Thomas Harley on that top power play unit. But still, in saying all of that, Hishin coming back, it lengthens the lineup. It’s an option to put him on the power play if they want to change things up if, you know, if things get stale or they’re not working, let’s say, but things have been okay for the Dallas Stars so far. But like I’ve been saying, it lengthens the lineup and makes them that much deeper um and harder to play against for the Winnipeg Jets because everyone’s rolling right now and you’re adding one of the best defenseman in the entire league to this obviously defense core in the middle of this series. I mean the Winnipeg Jets are going to have to plan for that different game plan stuff like that. The matchup game, especially adding him back in at home in game four, that is a big factor as well. So, you know, he’s had a tough season with injuries and obviously this one that followed him into the playoffs, but he’s it sounds like he’s ready to rock. And I think the Dallas Stars are on a collision course to meet the Edmonton Oilers in the conference final again. And I mean, it’s not only the fans and al excited about this. We’ve seen Jake speaking on it a while as well. He’s the best defenseman in the NHL in my opinion. Whenever you can insert a guy like that, it’s obviously a huge boost. and a huge boost might even be an understatement as you get someone that can come in and really shape out this defense. Now, this is a defense that you can’t even hate on. A two-1 lead over the Winnipeg Jets, the Presence Trophy winner are falling to the Dallas Stars, and this gives them an option to maybe even rock seven defenseman. Now, Darius, looking at the back end, like you said, Harley has been outstanding. We’ve seen him dominate in the uh for Canada and the four nations. We see the lines working out, but could you see Hishkin and maybe sliding in with Lindell on that top line, bumping Cody Cece down, not shaking up too much, but still getting your top guy in, or do you kind of lean the route of easing him into his minutes and maybe even get him in the third line as if it’s not broke, like you said, don’t fix it. I think a lot of teams were doing the easing back in thing. I don’t think that the Dallas Stars should. I think he should be on the top pairing. Like you said, Lindell’s been awesome even without him. But you move Cody Cece down, you move Leouchkin down to the third pairing, you’re just lengthening that lineup, right? Who comes out, that remains to be seen. Obviously, a lot of coaches and even myself do like the right shots on the right side, the left shots on the on the left side. Obviously, having Hkin on the, you know, the right side. He can play it, right? One of the rare defenseman in the league that can play it very seamlessly. So, no problem with that. But in terms of who comes out, you really have to consider things like that, especially in the playoffs, because it’s just easier to clear pucks when you’re playing on your strong side. So, it’s going to be interesting to see. All signs are pointing to him returning to the lineup, but like you said, move Cody CC down. Not that he’s been necessarily bad, but this is the one spot for me in terms of the Dallas Stars roster that is weaker coming into this season uh in this playoff run. Obviously, their offense got a lot stronger, that’s for sure. And it’s on the back of Miko Randon, that’s for sure. But goending still there. Defense is maybe a little bit weaker, but man, they have stepped up in the absence of Miro Hushkin as well. So, he’s coming back. He’s going to lengthen the lineup. And man, the Dallas Stars look like a scary team all of a sudden. No matter where he fits into the lineup, I do think it’s the top pairing. But no matter where they end up putting him, even if they want to, you know, ease him back into the lineup, they’re going to be a tough team to play against. And I mean, that’s the big thing, injecting him into a defensive core that’s already proven they can go up against the best of the best going through the first round versus the Colorado Avalanche into the second round versus the Jets. Getting this elite talent is going to change a lot. And looking at the Fords, this is where we could see them rock, you know, an extra defenseman instead of running a full four lines. I mean, still San Steel and Dad on the fourth as just extra pieces to inject throughout the lineup. You still have a top nine of probably the most dominant top nine led through by Miko Ranson and Hint. There’s incredible names. I mean, looking at this, would you be fine kind of running one less forward to get Heiskin back in? I mean, you might have some shifts where he wants to take a break off. He’s just getting back and he might look a tiny bit rusty, but running an extra defenseman kind of gives you leeway with that. And would you be worried about not having that extra forward out there? To me, to me personally, I think you want to run all four lines. That’s just the way I look at the game, but obviously Pete D’Vor and you know, the Dallas Stars have a different way of looking at the game, but um I think that you know, you want to run all four lines. And then when you look at Hushkin, I mean, he’s first of all a professional athlete, right? Like he’s been, you know, getting back from that injury. He’s been skating for a while. So, if he’s ready to go and they’re going to let him play, he must be 100% or close to 100%. All these guys are nursing different injuries and stuff throughout the course of a year, but he must be close to 100%. So, if he’s ready to go into the lineup, he’s ready to go. He’s been skating, the conditioning’s up, all of that. So, I wouldn’t be worried about stuff like that, like easing him in as a seventh defenseman or something like that, and then sacrificing an entire fourth line, right? not an entire fourth line, but then you’re double shifting guys and it could, you know, get certain guys out of rhythm because, you know, a lot of hockey players are are creatures of habit and rhythm, right? So, if they’re going above or below what they’re normally playing, it could really mess them up. So, I wouldn’t really touch anything in terms of that, but um it’s something that they could probably experiment with, but I don’t I don’t think they will. And I mean, let’s end this off by looking at the forts. You have to talk about Mo Ranson himself, Darius, just looking at the stats. It’s video game numbers at this point. Yes, there was one game that Connor Halabuk had a shut out. Who cares? Look how dominant this guy has been within the lineup. I mean, you can pause and you can read down throughout this on just how many points he’s been putting up every game. Feels like a multi-point game, back-to-back hatricks. What are your thoughts on just how Mo Ranton has really changed things for the Dallas Stars? We’ve seen him come over in a trade with Carolina. Some people were worried that maybe his time in Carolina was going to reflect on how he’s been in Dallas, and it’s been the complete opposite. I mean, you can see Mika Ranson in sitting number one. Maybe you can say Nathan McKinnon was only good because of Mika Ranson as you’re sitting and down there at number eight or nine. Whatever it is, who cares? Miko Ranton has been dominant. And what’s your thoughts on just the future outlook with this full healthy Dallas Stars team, which feels like the first time in forever. Yeah, it seems like the first time in forever. And I mean, he’s an absolute dog right now. I mean, Conor McDavid, what he did in the playoffs last year is unbelievable. And looks like Ranton and if they go all the way, is going to rival that. So, he’s putting up video game numbers, Gretzky numbers, whatever you want to call it. He’s been unbelievable. He continues to do it. I know Hellbuck put up a shut out in game two, obviously, but you know, I don’t think that’s going to it certainly didn’t last last game and I don’t think that’s going to happen again for the rest of the series. So, uh, Miko Randon looks comfortable in Dallas. That’s the biggest thing for me. He looked comfortable in Colorado, then obviously he moved to Carolina. It was a shock, but now being in Dallas, he looks comfortable again. He’s putting up crazy numbers and he is an elite player in this league. I’ve said it before and I’ll stand by it. like he is he’s an incredible player and he’s just continuing to do his thing. He’s very underrated physically as well. He’s like built for the playoffs. So, he’s going to continue to do his thing and the only person standing in his way of, you know, a Stanley Cup finals birth. It looks like all the series are not, you know, finished yet, but it looks like maybe Conor McDavid again and the Edmonton Oilers. So, that’s going to be an insane rematch if that ends up happening. But, for the time being, they have a series to win here against the Winnipeg Jets. Rantin is kind of carrying the team, but they’re just playing good hockey right now. and you know playing great defense as well. So, we’ll see what happens the rest of the way in this series, but Ranton has been unbelievable. And if he stopped playing today in the playoffs, it would take a while for somebody to beat out his point totals. And I mean, they’re going to end up taking a 3-1 choke pole or we’re hoping at least tonight against the Winnipeg Jets while they take them on at home. But what you guys thoughts on this? What type of lineup would you run tonight? Go down and leave a comment on what your projected lineup would be if the Lions are out by the time you’re watching this. Go let everyone know down in the comments. Let me know what you think he can put up tonight. Do you think he’s going to put up multiple points? Do you think he’s just gonna be a sound defensive play? run 7 D, Rantanen was getting double shifted earlier and looked like he was having a blast, tell that kid to go nuts while we ease his countryman back into playoff hockey.
Miro is 4 line power forward!
What will Heiskanen look like after missing so much time? Rust? If he goes right back to his A game…..
Things looking good for dfw mavs get 1st pick now miro back possibly
He'll be limited on playing time not 25+ minutes
That quote was about Esa Lindell during the 4 nations tourney
The AAC is gonna go nuts when he's introduced back to the lineup tonight
Miro is THE power play QB. Harley has been incredible but Miro is a monster on the PP.
Mikko is effective because the rest of the team is really good.
The Stars were (undeniably) a top 5 team before he arrived, but we are very glad that he's a fit.
Let's gooooooooooooooo dallas stars
Let's GO DALLAS STARS π π π
4 is better than 55 running the power play
Jamie Benn has done nothing but take terrible penalties, let #4 rake his roster spot. Benn is old and washed up
Very excited to get #4 back. I'm tempering my expectations, tho. He's been out for nearly 4 months. 1st few games will be getting his legs and feel for the game.
Go Stars π
Watch if both Mikko and Wyatt play with the fourth line.
Youβre absolutely right about Harley. That guy has been clutch ever since Miro went down, and deserves that spot imo.
I really thought they were going to run 7 d and double shift rantanen and Johnston (they've already been double shifting Miko) but it looks like they've got something else in mind.
Hopefully the stars defense will now know how NOT to get counter-attacked when Bishel and Petro are on the bench.
Those 2 play a conservative defense, but not many goals scored when they are out there.
Really seems the right wingers score the most nowadays!
They're going to be focusing more on Rantanen, which should give more space for everyone else.
This is just ridiculous from Avalanche's perspective. Not only did they lose their superstar, but with 12M he is making the Stars one of the absolute TOP teams players want to play in, since players A) want to play in a contender B) appreciate that there is a superstar playoff performer in the team that is willing to play for A DISCOUNT. And yes, 12M might have been the market price before the playoffs, but now Mikko is a max cap value player. You could pay him the max cap and other players in his team would not mind.
Miro looked pretty good last night. Limited minutes, of course, but he was solid on defense AND picked up an assist. Not a bad return.
How is defense helping? I saw like 100 shots on goal last night. It was ottinger who saved the day
