ESPN previously reported that Brown began receiving pain injections in his knee. Those injections began in March, sources said.

  1. Yeah this is the worst case scenario. Meniscus tears suck and never truely heal

  2. Might as well do the repair, if possible. And develop Jordan Walsh into a superstar next year

  3. just feels inevitable that they get dybansta or peterson at this point

  4. It really goes to show how important it is to maximise your window when you get there. None of this the core is young lets give them time. Boston was looking like a potential dynasty and perennial contender and now its gone because of some unfortunate and serious injuries.

  5. cant believe how quickly one can go from rooting for a championship to looking at the lottery

  6. Was obvious every time he tried to go up for a dunk, couldn’t even get halfway to the rim

  7. Obvious he was playing on a bad knee he just didn’t look fast or athletic like he usually does. Sucks this year we’ve seen all these injuries.

  8. A lot of talking heads figured that fatigue and the lack of drive would be the biggest issues for Celtics this season but damn… championship wear and tear really hit them hard.

  9. Ex-fucking-cuse me???? Bro pain tolerance has to be at an insane anime like level or them drugs had him high as kite.

Much respect to him for trying to play thru it

  10. Gotta see what the rebuild looks like because sans Tatum they were gonna be like a 4 or 5 seed but without Brown as well for a little bit they might be actual ass

  11. Watch Boston tank next season, get placed 8th and jump up to 1st or some dumb shit like that

  12. Was waiting on a report to say what his injury was. He was clearly gimped all playoffs. Sucks our team is beat to shit but we’ll be back.

  13. I remember one play in the playoffs where Jaylen had a very clear open path to the rim and instead of an easy powerful dunk he barely got to the rim and sort of just finger rolled it over the front of the hoop. It was obvious at that point he was not near 100%.

  14. unfortunate, wonder how much longer we will see a defending champion get past the second round in the playoffs. NBA has for sure reached parity though

  15. Pretty obvious he was playing with something serious. Did not look explosive at all towards the end of the season. I’m so used to JB dunking on people’s head come playoff time but didn’t get to see any of that.

Take it easy next season Celtics. Let PP be the #1 option

  16. This Boston team was so well assembled and acquired white porzingis and holiday through trades that shouldn’t have even made sense, yet still this core  likely only ever win 1 chip, just makes you wonder how fucking good the spurs were to win 5 with their core

  17. For those that didn’t realize he was hurt, he hurt it in February and it was clear he hadn’t played like himself for months

BOSTON — Jaylen Brown grimaced as he took the floor for warmups ahead of Game 5 [vs Orlando], his right knee smothered in a large wrap. After the 120-89 closeout victory, he sat in the Celtics locker room, his injured knee and dislocated index finger both submerged in ice.

On countless occasions throughout the Celtics’ first-round playoff series against the Orlando Magic, it was evident that Brown lacked his usual burst as he attacked the basket. Since mid-February, he’s publicly navigated a right knee injury that has severely limited him — an injury he said he’s dealing with “one day at a time”, one that’s frustrated him, but never stopped him.

  18. At this point just sit both Jays all 2026, trade Jrue & KP for whatever they can and let Baylor and Jordan Walsh actually get some reps in & command the tank

Maybe do what the 2020 Warriors couldn’t and draft well in 2026 and they can extend their contention 5+ years

  19. My literally nightmare as a long time basketball-gm.com player and Celtics fan came true. This shit is fucking ass. I hope Tatum doesn’t actually lose 5 overall points and 8 potential points.

  20. They’re going to rest Brown/Tatum the entire year, sell off the old vets, and bank on grabbing a new young lottery pick in the next draft

    you can’t fool me silver

  21. So basically 4/5 of Celtics top 5 were injured or recovering from injuries

  22. Dawg Celtics gonna land a top 3 pick in 26 draft and pretend nothing happened lol

  23. Jrue been dealing with his hamstring for a while now, Jb bone bruise and partially torn meniscus, AL horford is old, tatum twisted his left ankle then sprained his wrist then his fucking Achilles exploded on national television, KP finally had good legs just to catch the fucking T virus. What deal did we make with the devil bro?

  24. Surely Bill Simmons will respond the same way he did when LeBron reported an injury after his team was eliminated…

  25. Not taking anything from NY but I knew that, this is not the same Jaylen Brown that destroyed my Mavericks last year.

I was sure he’s playing with some kind of injury. That’s so unfortunate
