But let’s get to this one. between the Miami Marlins and the Tampa Bay Rays. The Miami Marlins sending out Cal Quantrol for the start in this one while the Rays will counter with Shane Bos. And Bos is a better pitcher than a 5.0 me 5.02 RA would indicate, but he has struggled in some of his recent outings. You know, he’s gone his last three starts given up 13 runs on 21 hits, seven walks issued compared to 10 strikeouts and that’s come over just 13 and two/3 innings of work. So, you know, he’s had some issues as of late and a couple of those issues though have been coming at home. But the thing for Bos is that if you look at the split for Shane Bos this season, he’s actually been better on the road. I would say, you know, he’s you look at the the home road split, six of his starts have come at Stein Brener Field where it’s still a minor league ballpark that’s replicated like Yankee Stadium. And that’s where Bos’s struggles have come. Five of his home runs have come there. 10 of the 13 extra base hits that Bos has given up have come there. a 6.03 erra, but on the road only two starts and a 2.31 ERA, including seven innings of shutout ball against the San Diego Padres’s. So, I think that Bos being on the road is more beneficial to him here. And that’s why you’re seeing the um the uh the Rays is a healthy favorite here along with the fact that Cal Quantrol has just not been great this season. I mean, yes, he’s coming off of a three-run performance. last time out over four and a third against the the Chicago Cubs, but it was still a game that the Miami Marlins lost. And I’m just still worrying that run support continues to be an issue for the Miami Marlins. But it also doesn’t help when Calantrol shoots himself in the foot early in the start and puts his team behind the eightball to where they just don’t have the firepower in those bats to be able to back him up. So, I think that the the Rays are going to jump on Quantrol early. Now, my concern is that the Marlins actually have the better bullpen over the last week. The third best bullpen ERA in baseball at 1.61. Is it sustainable? Probably not. But in current form, they are the much better bullpen. And the Rays, a 5.21 bullpen ERA over the last week puts them inside the bottom 10. So, I’m just going to isolate the Rays to the first five innings here. I’m going to lay a half a run. you could take the money line if you want and then it just pushes if they’re tied for whatever reason, but I don’t think that’s going to be the case. I think that Quantrol, like I said, just a much, you know, weaker option here. The Rays have been a solid option against right-handed pitching in the last two weeks. And, uh, you know, the um, the Miami Marlins for me are just a hard team to trust overall long term. So, I’m going to roll with the Tampa Bay Rays in this one.
